this is BS they gave their fingers on the trigger and on the hammer already they just slightly flip the gun up. rotate your holster to be horizontal and voilà just tap the trigger those rules are BS. They need to have the hand not touching the gun and measure how fast is the draw and shoot is

If you actually knew what you were talking about that would be great. Trigger finger must be outside the trigger guard and fanning hand cant be touching the gun or holster before the light comes on......thanks for visiting though your opinion means so much to us

We can all see from the video that they hold the gun one hand on the trigger one hand on the hammer almost pointed at the target they just wait to press the trigger and tilt the gun a little. it is funny that you call that a draw

I'm not discounting anyone's trick shots, but I've seen my father shoot anything from pecans to nickels tossed in the air with a .22 rifle. My uncles said my father could shoot glass marbles out of the air when he was younger with a Winchester model 74 .22 lr rifle.

Not sure what the point is when the body position, holster etc is nothing close to what you would need to do in real life! Just push the holster down and shoot through it. This may be fun but its not for me.

This isn't working...It's just not practical....Whoever is running that operation...After the season is over...They need to change up the fast draw....Make it where the competitors hands are at least 6 inch's from their holsters...Back up the balloon target some ...Make all holsters the same or equal....Guns can stay as is....There's so many changes you could do that would make this contest more interesting for your audience too....But I doubt you do anything...Just remember, fair means equal.

Kind of a dumb comment. Everyone has the same rule set to play by and has the same access to the same equipment to use if they want it. Also the blanks will only pop a balloon out to max 15 feet if your lucky. Commenting without knowledge seems to be the new norm these days

sorry but in my opinion this has nothing to do with duel shooting as first shooters are allow to be using customized guns, shooter are allowed to be almost ready to draw with hand position, quick draw holster, second hand ready, body position and laughing close distance to target. Try doing it like in 1875 with shooter in front of you and after couple drinks in saloon! Yes it take a MAN do do it

let them perform from a full standing position instead of a slumped going to cheat position. Hey how about just lie down that way you can just shoot out the bottom of the holster, its faster! Look to the legendary Bob Munden on how to fast draw. Don't believe that slumping and cheating ahead of time is the way to do it. If you want to slump and shoot AFTER you start from a full upright standing position sure, but quickdraw/fast draw is NOT done from a slumped position, ever. Here, let me cheat a little by leaning my gun barrel towards you lol. Sure they are fast, but how fast are they from a full upright standing position.

Love how folks come in and tell us how to have fun. And Bob Munden quit fast draw because his tricked guns were not sanctioned to be allowed to use in competition so he got in a snit and took his toys and went home. His fast draw guns had a hammer that extended all the way down the left side of the firearm like a giant crescent shape. Dont rely on everything you see on the internet as Bob was the only one the would tell you (and more than once in every conversation) he was the fastest there ever was. Smoke and mirrors gets another fan of his to bite. If you watch his famous double balloon shots where it sounds like one shot closely you will see that he actually cocks the gun as he is bringing it to his side then quickly raises it to his fanning hand and pulls the trigger and fans right after while spraying the target with his bird shot loads. Again looks great for a show but smoke and mirrors

I've seen the video where Munden shot two balloons and you can't perceive one and another. It looks like he makes only one shot, but then you realize both are exploded. He was impressive.

He was but if you watch the video closely he has cocked the gun at his side with it not in its holster. So all he is doing is raising a cocked gun up to his hand and fanning the gun once. Timing is great on it but being a showman it is a lot is smoke and mirrors. He is also using shot shell blanks filled with grains of tiny projectiles so he basically doesn’t have to be super accurate.

I agree with a lot of the comments. I feel you need to take a serious look at your rules. No hand on gun and must stand vertical. The arched back and exaggerated knee bend would be eliminated. We already have enough problems with backs and knees as we age!!
