Love this moment in time on stage with some of my musician idols now friends. I love the music stand moment, nothing like adding a bit of comedy before you are ready to go. I was so nervous, but thank you Eric, and Amy for making me feel welcome. To the fans who appluaded after and gave me so much encouragement

When I turn on the two apps it starts playing notes without me picking any strings. It’s really making it impossible to use.

Probably because the gain. You need to adjust the gain on the tonewood or it could be the midi guitar needs the min volume and gain adjusted. You will get that if there is something up too high. Another thing it could be is that any noise from the guitar or cables can trigger it if you've got noisy pickup or bad cables,

@@JohnMatthewsGuitar did some testing and it’s producing those extra noises even when it’s not plugged into the tonewood so it’s definitely an issue stemming from the midi app or iPhone itself. Ive played with the gain levels and am unable to improve it. I purchased the full version of each app so it’s a big bummer it’s such a mess at its default settings. I heard some random talk on the forums that it may stem from the iPhone itself and how it allocates it’s power. Thought I read somewhere that the older iPhones and tablets ran it better than the newer ones oddly. The audio device setting is stuck on In/out and it won’t let me change it either.

Yeah could be the phone. I just recently had my phone in studio and placed it close to this old echo device we had. That device picked up the static from the phone just by being close to it. It was hilarious, almost ruined a recording cause of it. We ended up using the noise as a end of song joke.

Your welcome. I am hope you are able to apply this in the future. I personally use it in my set to play violins for the song Seminole Wind. When the violin sounds come out people in the crowd turn their heads not expecting acoustic guitar have that sound coming out.

It does not since there is no Midi Guitar App that I know of. Yeah I'm an Android guy, luckily work had a spare iOS phone

Thanks, John. Yes, purchasing Sampletank and the MIDI Guitar 2 'in-app' purchase for Midi Output is well advised. It works fine over here on my iPad Mini. Now going to try it on my iPhone with a headphone jack to the Lightning adapter to see if it works through the adapter as well. The advantage of using my iPad Mini is although it has a Lightning jack for charging it also has a dedicated headphone jack. To people struggling, make sure you follow John's settings exactly. Especially around the MIDI effects section -- so important and the purchase of Sampletank and the Midi Output in-app purchase for Midi Guitar 2 was what made everything work perfectly.

I just posted up another video on how to separate and control the output for the Midi and for the Acoustic guitar individually. I think the next trick is to get a volume pedal for the midi out since its tricky to get the volumes to match.

To those of you who have been trying to get this to work. I have SampleTank Midi Guitar 2 and purchased Midi Guitar Rig ad Midi Output. I've followed this demo and can't get Midi Output to connect to SampleTank as shown in this video. SampleTank is running on my iPhone. Anyone have any ideas?

A couple of things that might help. To start with, turn the noise gate control in Midi Guitar 2 all the way down. This makes it easier to trigger the midi notes. In SampleTank, make sure you are in “live” mode (tap the 8 square grid icon so that you see the 8 channels). Select the first box, and tap the knob icon (leftmost icon above the 8 channel boxes). Turn the volume all the up, and make sure the pan knob is centered, or towards the left. Also, SampleTank has to be running in the foreground, and your iPhone has to be awake.

You need the midi cable that ToneWoodAmp has and then you will need to purchase the two apps SampleTank and Midi Guitar 2

@johnpatrickmatthewsmusic5 жыл бұрын
Do you get any sound at all? Just with basic Tonewoodamp and say hall or room effect.
@johnpatrickmatthewsmusic5 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah one thing that got me was the audio cord from phone to TWA(Tonewoodamp) can only plug in one way and it had to be the one provided by them. They supply two cables one short with a male/ female and another regular audio cable both make. The short male/female goes into the phone. Then connect long cable to it and that goes into the TWA.
@HighlightsVideoBlog5 жыл бұрын
I did the same and no midi sounds at all. My Iphone 7 uses the lighting adapter to mini plug, I hoping that isn't the issue. I really wish there was better tutorials on how to set this up, because is not working.

BTW I DO appreciate your Tutorial, It is much better than the naught from Tonewood Amp. They have been saying they're working on a Video for months, hard to believe them.

Mike Nykoruk: did you get it to work? You would think that it would work with the lighting adaptor, considering that Apple removed the headphone jacks from their phones in 2016.
