Like watching your Wingspan videos.
@zefiewings14 күн бұрын
Oh yay! another wingspan engine to watch turn! I love watching the strategy come together. its such a fascinating game design because they couldn't just change cards easily to rebalance. Powers and points are basically the only parts they have full creative freedom about, the size, diet, nest, and habitat are all just what that bird is. It must have been such a challenging thing to design but its so fun and interesting.
@Pinstar14 күн бұрын
The *major* redesign they were able to do was the rebalancing of the base game board. You used to *need* two birds in the forest in order to get 2 food cubes base per action. That was super oppressive and bad news if you found yourself lacking in forest birds. Meanwhile, you could take a naked grasslands action and get 2 eggs with 0 birds or resources. Now the norm is 1 resource for a naked action, with the option to pay other resources for 2, and then 2 no-cost resources with only 1 bird invested. But you needed to get 4 birds in order to get a third resource for free and all 5 birds to get 4 resources.

I don't know about this game. Is there a sacrificing of virgins to make sure the sun rises?!
@Pinstar17 күн бұрын
There is human sacrifice! I don't know about it being relative to virgins or the sun, but my understanding is that it is a thing. More testing needed!

I'm still fuzzy about the exact metrics of combat as well as the crystal mining rate. Pouring a bunch of sheep into that one mine didn't seem to net me a crazy amount of crystal power. More to learn!

Did they optimize the game or does it still very demanding
@Pinstar25 күн бұрын
If you are talking about PC performance, it doesn't seem overly demanding to me. My PC handles it just fine and that is with video recording software running, and I don't have a bleeding edge top-end PC. I think the game is in a good spot. The devs are adjusting balance as needed and are working on adding even more units over time.

I like how you hyped up fighting the Humans early then just blockaded them on their own little continent while you built the city centers for the win. thanks for the playthrough.
@Pinstar28 күн бұрын
I realized that building enough transports to shuffle all my troops over to properly steamroll them would have just taken too long, so i was content to just keep the humans penned in while I hit an econ victory. So I opted for that method for the sake of pacing. Spying on their colonies, it didn't look like the humans would put up as big of a fight as the Tarth did, so they wouldn't even make a good final boss :P Glad you liked the series!

Human opponents are always funnier to watch, even the easiest of them are far more unpredictable in their playstyle.
@fade2dblack29 күн бұрын
In another playthrough I watched, it was shown that you can overhand an upper story room by 1-2 extra blocks beyond the wall of the room that supports it. If you do this on each story, you can add around four extra blocks of width to each floor of the tower beyond the edges of the floor below it. The space makes it easier to build as your tower gets taller.

That was Spellcaster University. Very similar genre, but it has enough difference going on under the hood that it is more than just a different coat of paint.
