Bought the Issues of The Art of Quilting when it came out. Purchased each issue through my local new agent but unfortunately they did not continue to getting them in, so unfortunately for me, I do not have the full set. I'm very disappointed as I purchased the issues do do when I retired. Is there any way to purchase the issues I'm missing? Kind Regards Helen McCarten

Hi Helen There's no official way of buying the back issues. However, they are being sold on ebay. Hope this helps you continue your quilting journey. 😊

What size do you trim the blocks down to before assembling the quilt please
@CraftsatHome3 жыл бұрын
I believe the blocks before the sashing is added come out at around 9.5 inches but there shouldn't be any need to trim the edges if all pieces are correctly cut and seams matching.

Hi, i love this video. What type of iron on interfacing do you use? I don't seem to be able to peel the back off mine once its attached to the letters. Help please 😔
@CraftsatHome3 жыл бұрын
Hi Juliet I tend to use this one from hemline. I tend to lift the paper off at a corner with a needle or pin then ease the rest off. Hope that helps. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BMLDHFG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_kA9WFb4HEKBZ2

Hi. I’m new to jewelry making. What size and gauge are your jumper rings?? Thank you.
@CraftsatHome4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dolores, thanks for your enquiry. You can use any size as long as the jump ring or split ring is about 1-2mm smaller than the beads you have chosen. Here i've used 8mm pearl beads a 6mm (1mm thick) split rings for more security but you can also buy soldered jump rings so the wire doesn't come free and spoil your design.

This video really doesn't do a good job of showing what she is using for her finishing etc...the filming is way too far away for anyone to see anything. If you're a beginner jewelry maker, this makes it hard for the viewers to understand what is being talked about and then not being able to see it to give you an idea is confusing. What she is using is a type of crimp cover that has an open ring that she closes to make a loop for attaching your split ring and clasp. You could just put on a crimp bead and a split ring then pass the string back through the crimp and squish it for one end of the bracelet. Do the same on the opposite end but add the lobster clasp instead of your split ring. Jump rings can be used as well but split or soldered rings are more secure. You can add a crimp bead "cover" over the crimp bead if you didn't want it to show, it's just more of a finished look. Kind of hard to explain but hope this helped. ((Hugs)) xx : )

I have a bit of a problem with this issue. I accidentally made a snip in the strip that we save for binding. Is this going to be a problem later? Can it be fixed? I don't want to order another issue for a small cut.

My blue is where the green should be what have I done wrong?
@CraftsatHome8 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra. You need to mark and cut the blue, then turn the template over to mark and cut the green. if you have done this and just have the colours swapped over than it's not a problem, you've just made your block a bit more individual to yourself. You can still place the pieces down and just follow my video to ensure you piece the fabric together correctly. If you didn't turn the template over between colours then the pieces will be the same shape and you need to cut more out Hope that helps.

what make of sewing machine do you use

+sarah goldsmith Hi. The machine in issues 1-11 is a janome harmony 2039. The machine in issue 12 onwards is a brother FS100WT which is more suitable for quilting.

@CraftsatHome8 жыл бұрын
+Katie Dearden Hi, thanks for getting in touch. I will add an extra video which will explain in detail the process of hand stitching. With each block that's completed, the process is exactly the same for both methods. So where I tell you to sew the seam will be in exactly the same place each time. Also, the ironing will be exactly the same. Hope that helps, any further questions don't hesitate to ask.
