I’ve got 10+ years of experience, and it’s extremely difficult to find some international or continental job in charity. I’m from Poland, so I don’t have UK or USA visa, so it’s nightmare. I was working with 3 biggest charity organizations in Poland, lots of smaller also. It is so sad, because I would love to help. I studied international business, made a lot of certificates, was in project manager and director positions for years, and still… I hit the wall with this industry 🥲 Basically no remote opportunities, and I can’t leave the country, because on the weekends I’m doing my MBA.

*MESSAGE TO CHARITIES EMPLOYING PEOPLE.* (not anyone in particular) If a disabled person is 'on the same money' as a 'healthy' person, then their 'take home' is essentially going to be drastically less than their healthy counterpart. This is why disability benefits are a thing. You're SUPPOSED TO KNOW THESE THINGS and pay your staff respectively, NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR SITUATION. Is this why many charities appear to employ from close friends and relatives, and from privileged backgrounds, stating in job listings that a driving licence and university degree are required aspects, when they don't demand the same from their employed friends and families? You really need to take a long hard look at what you do, and the reasons why.

I love what Francine said about not having to tick every box; I'm definitely guilty of trying to answer every part of the job description and ending up with pages and pages for the employer to go through!
