You should be in lane 1, this sort of driving causes accidents. HGVs cannot go in lane 3 so if you are going slower than lane 1 hes no choice but to undertake you. Probably been driving for hours and has his cruise control on he wont want to turn it off and brake to sit along side you at 49mph. Make it make sense

Yep you are a sausage. You went through the lights seeing that your exit was blocked. You should have waited at the line until it was clear. A green light means " it's safe to go " as long as the way is clear, even if there is no box.

How could he drive through when there was a bus in the intersection? The traffic lights only indicate when it's your turn, not when it's safe to cross. You have to use your good judgement.

@02:50 Here in Australia, you can "hog" any lane bar the right lane, so long as the speed of the road is over 80kph. Under 80 you can be in any lane you choose. "Undertaking" is not a thing, you can be in any lane to pass other vehicles (if the rule was you can only overtake to the right, then that's a lot of unnecessary, unsafe, multiple lane changes), at no greater than the speed LIMIT, if you are in the middle lane doing 90kph in a 100kph zone, I can and will over-take you in whichever lane I am in (I don't like having to change lanes once I'm going).

Maybe color blind? When I was training for my HGV back in the day, we had an instructor with 2 trainee drivers in each truck. While I waiting my turn to drive, the trainee drove though a red light and only then did he ask him if he was color blind. He said yes and was told to instantly stop the truck and I took over. He was thrown off the course as soon as we got back. How he passed his medical in first place is beyond me.
