This battle is scuffed, Gotrek literally runs head first into a massive blob of enemies and dies before I can get to him

Thank you, this battle is really frustating. Handgunners crossbowmen and mortars supported by a light wizard and a witchhunter can banish even 40 units but G&F keep dying event if I costantly heal them with a life wizard, the exalted keeper of secret deals too much dage while I'm trying to murder the 3 bitches. Once I killed all 3 but I lost anyway because Felix died a second before. I never find a quest battle this difficult at vh battle difficulty. CA should nerf this battle, not Vlad and Malus.

My second time I maxed quite my skills and abilities even before leaving Skalitz, and I was fearsome, strong, deadly and had any equipment I wished because I was a superb thief. But I had way more fun the first time, when I was scared of peasant bandits and had no armor nor swords, nor was strong or skilled. Adapting to that world was a true pleasure, even if it was so difficult at times

Wouldn't have had to look up this video if they didn't just stand there like absolute dumbasses... Why didn't they make them spawn in my deployment zone so I could acctually protect them, especially when they die so quick.

ahhhh but it would be GREAT if they actually stood there......but no, they charge at the nearest enemy all the time. I always try to get to them, but by the time I reached their spawn point, they're already far ahead charging the army :))))

With the dwarves post patch this is almost impossible till you get a late game army. I used my runesmith to speed boost my units and rush .. still too slow even my 146 speed gyro can't make a difference. The units still seem to come in after the summoners move. I can beat everything but Gotrek is down to one health in seconds and always suicides right at the end.

It was super hard but I did it after a few hours by with the empire (Balthasar). I had a Jade wizard riding a pegasus right above Gotrek&Felix and healing them ALL THE TIME.

Found this hard as the dwarves, because you don't get a lot of fast units. I ended up using gyrocoptors to chase down the summoners and giants / bugmen rangers to get to them fast. Also bombarded a lot of them with AoE to trim their numbers down. Was a very annoying experience!

Slayers also work. Use Rune of Speed. You can double the Rune of Speed if you overcast it and regular cast it on a target.

They get stuck in enemy blobs easier if you do, later on when I get more overwhelming force I start using the formation a lot more.

One of them dies before I can even get my Infantry in range. I don't even get to see the summons, they just die to a single enemy infantry unit. What a stupid quest. Yeah, sometimes they die so incredibly fast. It's not a foolproof thing to do, but it helps at least. 60% of the time, it works every time.

The biggest problem I think would be to just keep them alive. Without healing, they will die fairly fast.

This campaign slaps…I’m newer player and good god it takes some getting used to but skarbrand can solo just about everything. I loath siege battles so I use bloodhost with skar as reinforcement to auto roll those. Just a fantastic steam roll of fun.
