Well done Sir!!! So few people anymore understand and appreciate the effort of pushing out against our limits and finding the edges. For some, it's the challenge and bragging rights, for others, it's spiritual. Regardless of the motivation, it's the journey not the destination. Fantastic accomplishment. You got a sub

Had a few KLRs but never tried anything like that on one but I did ride 1129 miles (by the odometer) on my goldwing one day. I didn’t do any iron butt paperwork but it was still a pretty cool feeling. Nice job. Keep riding safe.

Congrats, and happy birthday! The longest I've ever ridden in a 24 hour period is half what you did, and on a cruiser. I was absolutely ready to get off and find the nearest beer. I can't imagine the mental fortitude needed to take a KLR 650 that far in 24 hours. I salute you!

With the 16 tooth you drop around 10-12% engine RPM so it’s not screaming at hwy speeds. As such I didn’t note any oil consumption or at least not enough to notice.

I rode my Suzuki sv650 from up in Washington state to South Padre Island in the last week in October. 3 thousand miles in three days. Much of that ride was in sub freezing temperatures in the dark. I spent a week in recertification classes and headed back home. I took a week and a half getting back home in early November.

Nicely done. Iron butt is a piece of cake on a KLR. I did it on my 2018 a couple of times. I just took my breaks when I stopped for fuel which was roughly every 225 miles. I'm planning to buy a 2025 KLR as soon as my local Kawasaki dealer gets them in and I'll probably do an Iron Butt to break it in amd then I plan to see how fast I can do the So-Cal and Nor-Cal BDRs (I'm a former MX, enduro, and supermoto racer so I get throttle happy in the dirt)

Good points. Did one of the IBA rides years ago. Sadly many in our group were hard chargers and raced the clock. That was high-schoolish. I took breaks as needed aside from fuel stops. Our ride would benefit a charity, so I wasn't worried if I didn't finish. Did 1.087 and qualified with three hours left. They said there were still eight out there somewhere.

I did an iron Butt run from Dallas Texas to California twice back in the early-mid 80's. I hadn't even heard of an iron butt run at that time, first time on a Suzuki 750 & the 2nd on a Harley super glide ( I was in my early -mid 20's ) I haven't road a bike in 40 years until I got my gen 3 KLR last year...... I don't know if my old butt could handle that on my KLR , However this video is inspiring to say the least. I might try Dallas to Mt. Rushmore to see how I do , I'd have to go pre/post Sturgis as I wouldn't want all of the Harley riders to feel inferior to the KLR & someone riding their bike as opposed to trailering it to the destination 😬
