RIP Burny Mattinson. One of the true keepers of the Disney flame through the end of one golden age of Disney animation and the reign of two more.

This is the best adaptation of A Christmas Carol.

They didn’t show everything in the collection. It was teddy, grubby, 3 fob puppets and every single tape with matching books in original packaging, as well as a couple outfits. And I did have the original boxes, they were just too much to carry so they gave me a tote to put a couple of the things in so i could carry it. It would of taken too long to put everything back in their proper boxes I ended up donating it all to a children’s hospital that saw the show and wanted them to read to the kids.

We will never see men with jobs like these in America. Animation by hand and to have the respect of the company you work for. What a difference compared to the Disney Studios in Burbank today in 2022.

I miss this show, it made toy collecting look awesome. Teddy Ruxpin scared the shit outta me as a kid too, especially the way it said "Can you and I be friends?" when you turned it on.

We all loved this growing up and still do. Looking at this “behind the scenes” though, I can’t help but notice the absence of diversity in their staffing. I hope that’s changed over the years.

Even though Mickey's Christmas Carol was animated like the earliest Disney films, it sure had a lot of young animators. Notably Burny Mattinson, Mark Henn, and Glen Keane.
