Clears fuel out of the carb. The old mg's spitfires and all other sports cars of the 60's and 70's you always rev 'd the engine before you turn them off, so the fuel did not sit in the carbs.

That’s pretty cool to have a famous KZbin concreter in Michigan. That would be sweet! If you did a pour in Grand Rapids or something!

What is with the “accountant” name?
@RathburnContracting3 күн бұрын
Reference to an old video. Chelsey (my wife) does all of our accounting for the business and I mentioned to the guys I’d have to convince the accountant to let us buy a new machine. People started calling her that in the comments so it stuck 😂

Awesome job, 3 people doing the work of 8 people at the least. Your back and legs are going to do some serious complaining tonight i would imagine. Then there's the stress of getting it done before the concrete sets up, the leaves, probably no time for lunch, will the buggy make it through the day, sounds kinda rough. I hope not all your jobs are like this,it would put you in a early grave. Hats off to your team, they earned their money today and your respect. Good video, gave me a sore back just watching. 🙂.

I know nothing about concrete except what I see on KZbin and Mr. Easy Money but I don't see much rebar, why is that?
@RathburnContracting10 күн бұрын
Thank you for asking respectfully. There are many types of reinforcement and different situations. This is a light duty residential driveway with 4.5-5” thick, 4,500 psi, mid-range, with fibermesh reinforcement poured on 6” of crushed stone. Rebar and wire is only an issue if there’s a heavy load (which nothing heavy can even fit on this driveway) or to keep the cracks from separating (which the fiber mesh does an amazing job of holding together as long as there is not a substantial base failure. This method is a 30-40 year driveway and how every single new construction neighborhood driveway is poured or engineered on the print by an architect. They always say “WWF or Fiber-Mesh reinforcement” on every print I’ve ever read or bid. Wire was the method before fibermesh became popular and is used by a lot of “older school guys”. This does not mean wire isn’t great or that Ryan is doing anything wrong, I use wire on quite a few of my jobs. But pulling wire up without a few extra guys is a real challenge and offers zero surface protection like fiber does.

@Rathburn I'm no expert I got no experience but it seems to me that if the Driveway is 18 feet wide why not make the Concrete Drive all the way to the garage instead of using the motorized Dolly...??? It seems more efficient that way!!!😅
@RathburnContracting11 күн бұрын
It certainly is, but there is a city approach and sidewalk that we were not replacing. If that was cracked or was damaged we’d have to get permits, inspections, and replace it at all my cost. More efficient and way easier- but not worth the risk!

Bet the truck driver was thinking the same thing.. “that’s some THICK concrete!” As its smashing in the bed 😂 did I miss the reasoning why ya didn’t have a lil gravel ramp in for the truck that ya dig out when he gets far enough out? Or is it the pace you can keep up w using the buggy that u did it like that? ( seems like the crews pretty green🤷🏼♂️? )I wouldn’t think it would have cracked the sidewalk.. 🤔 but it Turned out real nice 👌🏼🤘🏼

Gota love a good trailer fixin vid 👌🏼🤘🏼the whip ya made for your welder Shouldn’t drop in voltage to much if your using a big enough cable … test it at the end of your whip ya made n see if it’s still 220 , I did the same thing for my welder, how do you like that Vulcan machine? I got a arccaptain mig200 2 years ago n it’s been a great machine for me n the projects I do around home, how’s your shin !?? 😣 🤕
@RathburnContracting11 күн бұрын
Yeah I didn’t have any issues while using it. So far I really like the welder. I’ve used a Millermatic 211 and I couldn’t tell a difference- I’m sure legit welders or fab shops would notice the duty cycle. Shin is doing good, just took a few minutes to walk off haha

The saw will cut even better if you rotated that tubing where it started on he corner like diamond shaped. Mine came with an apparatus that slides on the clamp for that purpose. Flat bar i stand on its side and just cut through the thin stuff. Angle iron cut with the angle iron facing down starting on the angled back. Just gives you a little more life out of the blade.

What don't you put steel reinforcing in the small patio slab?? It'll crack 100% you really need steel in there mate. We use concrete pumps in Australia, much easier, just need 1 or 2 more people and a pump.
