Hi! Thanks for the video, you answer many of my question to invest in my cook kit :) I was just wondering, when you store the 2 Trangia hard anodized pots, does the small one rub on the big one ? I'm wondering if in the long run it can damage the bigger one ? Do you store it with something inbetween ? Thanks again!

Hi guy's, love the positive attitude in your Thailand video's. They are very inspirational. Are you permanently based in Thailand , or will you be making bikepacking/touring video's from other countries? Regards, Neil

We're based in Thailand, so most of our videos will be here! Sam did a trip to Peru recently, so he has a few things coming from there shortly :)

How do you make coffee on trips? ... wait, you do make coffee on trips, right?
@gonebikepackingАй бұрын
Honestly if we didn't have a morning coffee we wouldn't ride bikes! We use a sea to summit V-60 style dripper, its really really small and doesn't require papers! But we're also lucky, thailand has a crazy amount of coffee shops (even in the jungle) so we often have our second one out!

Nice, you go so detailed through the options. Where do you store your setup on your bike? As the trangia pot-pan comobo isn't necessarily small.

I rode the MHS loop, did many extra miles in and out it took me three months to have a solid look around, and still i have only just touched the surface of Northern Thailand.. I am going back to MHS to live on the river in a month.. the quality of life is incredible the people are wonderful the food is plentiful and of the highest quality all year round

Hey Kevin, 38/10-44 will be enough, but if you can change your front ring to a 32T you'll be much happier :-)

Love the video. Been looking at Thailand for a year or two now and just recently decided to get a bike to get outdoors to improve my well-being. Getting way ahead of myself but this vid was definitely food for thought as both Chang Mai and Bangkok are in my bucket list. Until then I’ll fall back on my homemade Pad Kra Pao at home here in the UK 😊👍

It´s great to see that there´s more to Northern Thailand than just Chiang Mai and the Mae Hong Son Loop. Nevertheless it´s very important to mention, that riders should check the air pollution in this region on a daily (!) basis because of the burning season. We just have been there and being outside without a mask was very harmful.

May ride it next year. My wife and I rode from Bangkok down to Penang Malaysia and back up. Currently in Hua Hin will train back as its HOT now and we’ve already seen the way back. We’ve been using the walking route on google maps and mapsme to find smaller paths and dirt roads as much as we can. Definitely makes for more enjoyable days even when it adds plenty of miles. We we’re already thinking about North next year. Chiang Mai to Nan probably. Just now heard about your route. Thanks and have fun out there!

Great video - I love the way you and Nu approached creating this bikepacking route. It also brought me back the good memories from when I toured in this beautiful (and super hilly) part of the world last year. Great to see Nu has not changed at all (yes, he is always busy!). What's next for you?

Met great people along the way and made some new friends, especially Ping at Tung Yung Homestay. My wife and I took up bike touring in our fifties and have fallen in love with it's simplicity and freedom. We're in the early stages of planning a SE Asia trip in the near future after some short trips in our local region, Victoria, Australia. Subbed...obviously!
