The classic instrumental of all time, I never tire of hearing this wonderful music from the late Joe Meek.

Very nicely played but the original with clavinette (?) Keyboard and Joe Meek humming at the end is the best, nothing can approach it.

O tentato tante volte di insegnarmi questa canzone e non ci sono mai riuscito, poi o sentito questo bravo chitarrista, ci sono riuscito, grazzie a come suona, le note si sentono distinte. E non cofusionati❤

So, I have to say, this song makes me feel terribly sad. It’s so interesting, because some people Xpress the exact opposite. I remember my mom telling me about the song maybe five years ago. She talked about when it came out, and how things were so hopeful, and so much was happening with science. She was describing the album cover to me, I believe she said something about the a in the title was made to look like a rocket, and the cover had a lot of brake colors. I mean, no one can argue that the 60s was perfect, or than any time in the past was perfect. It certainly had a lot of problems, and we certainly have even more problems today. I’m not quite sure why the song affect me this way, I guess it makes me feel so sad because of how people thought things would be better, And how optimistic they were, and how, in many ways, things are much worse today. I couldn’t remember even what exactly Telstar was, if it was a rocket, or what precisely. So I looked it up just now, and I found out that the satellite didn’t even last a year, and it just died up there in space because of radiation. I guess I’ve watched the brave little toaster too many times, because that also made me sad even though it’s an inanimate object, you can’t feel anything. and then, of course, that got me thinking about Leica, the first dog that was launched into orbit, and that I had to cry and hug my German Shepherd, and sorry to be such a downer.

As a composer/songwriter/recording engineer, this song is inspiring! I tried to write a "new" song with that "Telstar" vibe/sound as nobody else appears to have tried. Absolutely nothing can compare but I gave it my best shot... kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4iygIGcbt6Yq9U

Telstar is just magic for the ears. It is beautiful, serene, mysterious, great reverb and tones of perfection. Classic and nostalgic from 1962.

"Telstar" is a strange one for me. I don't think there is another song that gives me the feeling that "Telstar" does. For some reason when I hear it it evokes inner feelings of hope and good. I truly cannot explain it. I LOVE music and listen to it constantly, and no other tune does that for me. Whenever I feel down, "Telstar" brings me to a better place. Not overly joyful, happy, or giddy......just, HOPEFUL.

This song brings back memories you would not believe...I was in the Navy reserve and during the Cuban Crisis my division was activated and we were being flown to a sub-base but due to storms, we could not land in Conn. Therefore, they flew us to Road Island. We sat at the airport in Road Island for hours waiting on a bus that would drive us down to New London. The local radio station must have played this song every ten minutes. Now when I hear this song I remember looking out at the rain-soaked runways, watching dark clouds dump gallon after gallon of water on the runways, and wondering if JFK made the right call. Great song and you performed it above average...way above average. Five stars.
