Not sure if Northern Ireland has a mentoring scheme for young offenders but the rate of reoffending when given a mentor is much lower than without - probably no help for anyone 😢

This is a holiday camp compared to California youth authority. These tough guys would learn prison discipline and respect very quickly from the gangs, not the staff.

I knew Ryan when he was younger and he was a nice lad with a bit of a temper. But he got himself involved with a bad set of brothers who were utter scumbags. Assaults, drugs, breaking and entering even elderly homes. Ryan was a scapegoat for the attack and they didn't get done because they are or were police informants at the time. Everyone knew probably even the police. But such a high profile publicised case needed a bad guy and Ryan was the bad guy. Glad he's found to time to reflect on everything that happened.
