Not sure, this is an oooooold video. There's probably newer mods to improve WAY more than this old mod in the video. Honestly I think I could just super-sample the resolution WAY up and still get 120fps locked on my 4070Ti at this point.

Yeah, it doesn't touch the game at all, just think of it as it recording the game then overlaying the smoothed version on top in real-time.

@@Fyshtako yeah that's what I thought but I've read some people say that certain games do ban you for using it, CoD for example. I guess it depends on the anticheat.

Hell yeah, mobile tech I don't think is there but the point where phones get this kind of frame gen tech and proper upscaling is gonna be a game changer for phone emulators.

Likely a marginal increase, 10% or so added on top of the normal input delay, from testing I've seen. Feels identical in terms of delay for me. But the increase to fluidity helps for combat just as much imho.

The Next Gen update for FO4 broke script extender and possibly this mod. the script extender has been updated, and some mods work but it's all a mess. If you want to be sure this mod works, you might have to downgrade your game. I'm not sure how all that works, I'm avoiding FO4 until all the issues the patch caused for mods are resolved.

Heck yeah, good sum up it basically is exactly that.

Look at the top left corner of the LSFG game (bottom right gameplay), it says 60 in text there. This is using Lossless Scaling, in particular it's using Lossless Scaling Frame Generation - it's like Nvidia DLSS frame gen except it can be used with almost any game and any computer instead of requiring a nvidia gpu and to be implemented into each game manually. Basically think of it as if it's taking a recording of the raw gameplay on your screen, then generating double the framerate and overlaying it on top in it's own fullscreen game window. So it doesn't actually touch the game at all, just captures video and does its thing all in realtime.

It IS Lossless scaling 2.9, with LSFG 2.1 which you can see when I bring up the Lossless scaling program. And I usually do record at high res, this is recorded from a cheap usb capture card because recording on the laptop would influence the tests. So it's at 720p recorded. Not ideal but hey I had no other way. Thanks for the advice though, I will try upscaling actually next time if my footage is lower res, I've wanted to give that a go for a while.

Yeah, until they finally port Daxter to something other than the PSP this is the only current way since there's no 60fps mods.

This app only has FSR and a few other types of upscaling, DLSS is hard to implement for an app like this.

It isn't, doesn't even hook into the game or anything, think of it as if it's capturing your game window (in windowed mode) and then it does it's thing and puts the final 120fps in a new window in fullscreen (you can pick which monitor you want that final image on, I just put it on my main screen usually). So there's zero way it'd be considered cheating or get you banned :)

Yeah, it's something to do with emulators specifically retroarch and pcsx2 and recording the lsfg with them. On my pc it looks smooth.. It's unfortunate, but not much I can do about it. I spent like 4 hours trying to figure out why it was doing that.

@@Fyshtako Oh, so in your PC it is 60fps levels of smooth 100% of the time, and only the recording causes these hickups?? If that is the case, I will definitely give it a go, as the 60fps moments here definitely look glorious

It's an app, on steam. Costs like 7USD and works in almost any PC game.

Sure, maybe. But the fact Elden Ring doesn't use more than 50% CPU usage on a 5800x even unlocked failing to reach 120FPS means that the majority of people also won't be able to lock to 120, hence why LSFG is useful.

@@Fyshtako I agree it's usefully. But you'll find a single core or 2 will be maxed out. That 50% is misleading mate.

Yes, Thier is noticable latency penalty.

i recommend it in every other game except elden ring the latency makes the game alot harder

It's pretty good really, LSFG boosted to 60 versus actual 60fps feels kinda like playing on a 5ms office monitor versus a 0.1ms gaming fancy monitor but both at 60fps.. Office monitors are really quite fine, but it's not that insane snappy feel of a low input lag monitor. It's still a massive improvement over 30fps.

Excuse me, how did you cap it to 40 FPS? I thought you have to cap it to half your screen rate. Is your screen 80 Hz? Thank you.

you can freestyle fps caps either using Nvidia Profile Inspector's FPS Limit option, or Rivatuner which you can hook onto games and select a manual fps cap. It might cause tearing if you don't cleanly go full or half refresh rate, but not if you have a VRR monitor and do it right.
