Seriously THANK YOU for posting this. I just had the shock at the dealership as well when they told me how much it was going to be for them to do it, lol. Looks like something I can easily manage now thanks to your video. REALLY appreciate it!

I had thought that at first. So I rewired the cables at the axle being as this is a common problem with the wire that goes through the axle tubing. But this was in fact an active recall from ford that the module had to be flashed. Thank you for watching and a great suggestion.

Just now seeing your video. Quick question - if using this for a tiny home , can one be placed under the kitchen sink cabinet as you did, and another be placed near the bathroom as the designated hot water for bathroom sink and shower, therefore eliminating the need for a “traditional “ hot water tank? Great video btw! 😊

remember you have to have the incoming water from a tee from the COLD side, otherwise water will be scalding when regular heater water comes through. So you don't need to use the hot angle stop. (At least in warm climates)

Hey guys great work. The finish looks great. I’m helping my dad with the same project. This edge binding is the missing link for us to finish. I can’t help but notice you guys had a roll of it. The link in you description is only 5ft sections? Did you order from Amazon? I’m just having a hard time finding a roll like you used. Thanks!!

We did get it from Amazon in 3 separate five foot sections. When we used this binding it was shipped in rolls. How this helps.

We go down there a lot because my family has a house down there. We have never been where you are going. A suggestion I have would be to take the ferry from Port Bolivar to Galveston. The best part is that the ferry is free to ride. (just don't do it on a holiday week or weekend because it has very long lines.)🚐

Nice review, appreciate it. I just had my camper tires replaced due to a belt breaking last week sitting at a campsite of all things. Really glad we caught it at the campsight but a TPMS system would really be ideal. Looks like a good setup with the Tireminder. I own an older rig so this would be a great setup for monitoring my truck and camper as well. The only drawback I can see is that the display looks like it would not be well placed on top of the dash due to how reflective it is. Easy enough to remedy. Happy Camping!

We normally have it done at the dealer when we're RV'ing, but now, we have a home again so I can do it my self now till we get on the road again next winter. We tow a 42 foot 5th wheel when we're traveling. Factory ordered Oct 2021, waited 6 months! She's got 43000 on and it's be a great truck.

Did it just start or has it always not cooled? Could be thermistor out of adjustment, is the sun shining on the back side of it? Air flow is crucial to these absorption fridges working properly.

I took my first trip with my sumosprings and they’re amazing. I just kept thinking while driving, that it’s an absolute shame that people can’t experience what these feel like because if they could, they would buy them. I was reluctant because of the price but now, I will never own another travel trailer or 5th wheel that doesn’t have sumosprings on them. These are amazing on my 5th wheel.

If you have an outlet tester, you can plug it into your generator and watch it fail over the floating neutral. I don't get why they don't do this in a inverter generators out of China, especially the 120V variety. There is an excuse for larger 240V generators because some people hook these into their homes and already have a ground-neutral bond. However for the 120V only generators, it doesn't seem anybody hooks them into stationary house power, so it doesn't make any sense to not have ground-neutral bond there. You should always have one and only one ground-neutral bond in your system. It is not safe otherwise. Your surge protector will either not be able to work or in this case refuse to work because it can't do its job without this ground-neutral bond. So when it refuses to turn on, it is actually doing the only thing it can do at that point to keep you safe, which is refuse to accept that power. Here is another way to put it. I have not heard legitimate stories of any of these Chinese inverters or inverter generators burning out due to someone setting up a ground - neutral bond. At the same time the NEC codes are there for a reason and everything is designed around them. So either you add a single ground - neutral bond when you can verify that there is none, which is very easy to check for or you operate an unsafe system. You can just look and see the label and even if you don't, just put the outlet tester in there to get a quick answer. You should have a tester anyway for your home / apartment as often there is something wrong there, especially with older homes and slumlord management for apartments. If you find you need to add this single ground - neutral bond, but are afraid of damaging your inverter / inverter generator, remember that not complying to NEC codes, especially around a ground - neutral bond can lead to you being electrocuted and subsequent death. This can be just touching any electrical appliance with a metal surface such as your toaster oven as they all may end up energized at the same time with no path back to source until you complete that circuit with your body unwittingly. Everything that is supposed to be safe to touch instead being energized is a very bad place to be all because you didn't have this ground - neutral bond there. So I would say better to burn out that PoS inverter generator now than to burn out your body later. If the inverter generator does fry, which I am pretty sure it won't, it is a lot easier to replace than your body.

This works for RV's with outside enclosures. Inside an enclosed space the legal limit people can transport is 90 lbs, the cylinders must be upright, held by a strap and turned off while driving. I'm surprised more RV camp sites aren't offering a 100 lb tank to use for free and renting a cargo dolly to move it for $20 a day.

3000W is just under 28 amps; but the 110V 36” power cord on these units is 14 AWG. If that wire isn’t getting hot then they are lying about it being 3000W.
@119Agent
@119Agent 5 ай бұрын
Probably peak output? The stated peak wattage is typically a lie on consumer products. Or at least far more than one would expect with continuous wattage.
@bigcbradio
@bigcbradio 24 күн бұрын
I have this exact same unit, they are not lying about the 3000w, it will draw up to 30 amps when you have the temp set hot and you have high water flow, and yes, the cord gets HOT, so hot that I decided to rewire/hard wire it myself with larger wire. Also, this guy posted above that all his breakers are 20A. My unit would pop the 20A breaker in about 45 seconds, he may be getting away with it because after a few seconds his original hot water has made its way to the instant heater and the instant heater no longer has to use power to heat the already hot water coming in. These units have a PWM transistor that controls the amount of power going into the heating element, so the heating element only uses the amount of power needed to heat the water based on its incoming water temp and the flow rate. If you watch the video at the 5 minute mark you can see he has his connected to the incoming hot water, so this instant heater only has to heat the water for a short while before he is actually using his regular hot water and the instant heater does not have to draw any power at all. That is great for instant hot water, but this video is not an accurate indication of what would happen if you depend on this water heater for the only source of water heating. If you want to use this exact unit as the only source of heating, and at a decent flow rate, you will need 110-120v at a minimum of 30amps, and watch that power cord getting hot or rewire it yourself with larger gauge wire. China does not care if you burn your house down.

I just put some on my ford ranger. They seem pretty good on road and helping prevent body roll on cornering. Off road I suspect they are going to be too hard and offer less articulation in axle movement. I'm going to leave them on for a while see how they go.
