I'm currently going through one of the free Code Academy courses. I am not sure I would recommend it for someone completely new to programming, but its helping me get a crash course on the syntax.

Я поставил в свой проект базу badger. При создании базы система падает в панику. Включение в код текстов типа if o.isManaged { panic("ReadTs should not be retrieved for managed B") } делает всю работу этой веселой базы badger совершенно бесполезной, вносящей panic - разнообразие в нашу скучную жизнь. Поэтому я ее просто удаляю и пойду поищу что нибудь другое, где в коде возвращается ошибка, а не происходит паника.

best dotfile mgmt is a bare git repo that way you just download the repo on a new system and install the files, and you don't have symlinks everywhere. There's a page that explains it better than that but it's dead simple.

I use neovim but honestly emacs is a good editor. I've used doom editor before and I liked it and if I get bothered enough by neovim I would probably switch to doom emacs. But lazyvim right now feels like a good setup so far.

Last time the algorithm brought me to your channel, I learned about CLI and now I will have to learn about emacs and DOOM emacs. Always fun to hear you talk even if I have almost zero idea whats going on :D. Looking forward to the next time I land on your channel and see what else I'll end up learning about.

Emacs has some many things that even neovim users do not dream is possible. One good example is email, mu4e is absolutely awesome!

oh my god that's awesome using both for years, Doom for org+roam+roam-ui, vim for everything else, can't really say why, It's just the way I like it, maybe because doom as ide feels slow for me (maybe fixable, I dunno)

Ultimate Go Course from Bill Kennedy (available on O'Reilly) + ArdanLabs articles about internals of Go gave me very solid base of knowing what I am actually doing & how to do it better obviously "go tour" -- it's getting better and better through the time Go has well written standard library, so exploring it + any other modules (how people write the code in Go) helps a lot. It's an unique experience compared to many other languages, when you can read std code and get into it without extra resources.

instead of adding j0 to the end of the macro, you can visually select the lines you want to execute on, and type the command :normal @w it will run the macro on the selected lines

The _git bare_ method is far superior to any other method when it comes to managing dotfiles. No need to copy files around or to create symlinks. Look it up.

there's also a much easier way to do this with visual block mode: ctrl + v (to enter visual block mode) press j to go down however many lines you need (or with a number like 5j to jump 5 at a time) Shift + I to enter insert mode type the checkbox stuff and when you hit escape it will be inserted on every line you had selected in the visual block

interesting channel... i think I''ll go chop some wood and think about it... I think I like Neovim because its lightwieght, and Lua is Brazilian... Emacs doesn't seem to be associated with a lovely eco-nation filled with exotic people and animals including bunnies.
