I would like to see the finances much more broadly publicised. What exactly you have and how it will be spent in clear plain language terms. I have read how £7m has been spent recently but there is zero breakdown and when you go and look at the place that £7m was spent on it certainly doesn’t look it. I hope it’s not the case the large numbers are not being inflated as the impact then has a negative effect on aspirations when things look like £5.98 got spent and not £7m. It would be nice to see the end of some council tax added bills for town councils and the monies taken for town council operations in the 21st century be a proportion of the county tax and NOT an additional one one too. As an example there are many: when the left had side of the street is cleaned by town and the right hand side the county the street is always covered in rubbish. Let’s have one cleaning not segregated. Let’s also avoid competing between towns in the same region let’s compete globally not locally.

It genuinely wasn't very good this year guys. Tiny weak installations, miles apart, and then you forced people leaving the cathedral to walk a dark muddy path miles down the river bank to leave. Not great.

Are you kidding this was a great event which has been ruined . This year the experience was queuef or ages to see hardly any installations far fewer and on a much smaller scale . With a massive increase in scran vans people selling plastic tat and most of all an incredible amount of security ushering the population through the city . The worst bit was when they bottled the crowd into the prebends bailey gate . Hel us like cattle which, had it been to build a sense of theatre for the installation ahead would of been fine however, when we were allowed to progress we were greeted by the sight of 2 scran vans . The installation ahead was good but ruined by poor management and a clear preference for vendors and security. What was once great has been absolutely ruined . Get a better art director don't the council organise anything and it may improve

Slick production, but oh what an awful message. Just no mention of the mainstream economic science on this subject, heck the Councillors of DCC have probably read less than 1/10th of the Stern review between them. DCC should slap on a CO2 tax on their own emissions at the social cost of carbon and remit that back to central government if they really believe. But they don't. Lots of DCC councillors own dogs, have been promoting free car parking and that 'tree planting' - not a single piece of evidence that CO2 absorption is higher than the most obvious alternative of letting nature regenerate and compete for atmospheric CO2 naturally. Throw in the plastic bark protectors and the energy cost of tree plantings and DCC might actually be making the problem a smidgeon worse.

Council tax is a complete con. Most hard-working people literally get their bins emptied every other week, if they bother. Durham council is the worst council I've ever lived under. You say the money is to maintain the roads and streetlights, but there are potholes everywhere and the streetlights are terrible!

There has never been any peer reviewed paper that corelates Co2 and the warming of the plant period! Not one place that will answer the phone in the UK to get a solar panel recycled, Fact.Co2 is the gas of life and helps all vegetation grow! we currently sit at around 420 ppm! plant life dies at 150 ppm! optimum Co2 for plant life is 1,500 ppm! You are all brick thick!
