For waters with calm waves like that. that 36lbs has more advantage battery life wise. Imagine how much Power it consumes from battery the 70lbs motor. 36lbs motor will make you stay fishing longer. unless the 70lbs motor has bigger battery which is heavier.

You can change the prop and it will give you the same speed !

I have the excursion 5 version. It's perfect for me and my wife.

Pretty consistently you'll find don't run it on the top speed. If 2.5mph uses half as much battery as 3.5mph, there's your range
