Aside from fighting games which were developed with other people, he does everything by himself. Also keep in mind that this franchise is kinda old, first game was released in 1997, while first Windows game, Touhou 6, was released on 2002

The difficulty of the last words is called "Last word". In other words, it is its own thing, separate from the other difficulty categories (Easy, Normal, Hard, Lunatic, Extra). Talking about its actual difficulty and comparing them to the other categories, I would say some last words are about the same as Lunatic level, while others are pretty easy, like a high Normal or low Hard difficulty.

Yeah, although movement is a bit hard to control, ground jump height is really high. You can even do some tricks on foot and get on the top of Oblivia's Giant Ring without a skell!

For me, this is about the top 2-5 of my favorite games, I’m just an old player, I’ve been playing since 1994 or so, and I saw this game relatively recently, about 3 years ago, but even so I really liked it. I'm really looking forward to the remake/remaster :) @@GoReadTheManga

Lao is a pretty decent party member to play as. First of all, he's got damage reflection, which gives him a strong option for defense. He's also got Overwhelm, which acts as good TP support during overdrive (even Ghost Sniper helps too). Crit power + crit chance makes him decent for crit builds. Eagle eye helps with attack and accuracy. Afterburner is effective if built around properly. There's a lot he can do, but there are still better party members for general use to play as, such as Elma. Her decoy opens up more room for potential builds, compared to reflect, which occupies armour slots, and she's easier to use to sustain overdrive. Also, she has pot boosting arts as well for higher damage. About the same can be said about Phog. Nagi is also a strong option. He's capable of heavily damaging enemies with Offensive Stance + Blossom Dance and can even run a decent tank build with Defensive Stance + >40k HP. Requires a bit of investment though, so Phog and Elma are more effective to use with low investment. Other than them, there are more characters that have access to reflection, such as Alexa, Yelv, Boze, L, etc. Anybody with it can get a decent build going. There are other characters that might lack defensive options but are still good at what they do... and then there's Hope. Hope is... yeaaahh... 😅 In overall, Lao is a good playable party member. Reflect does not require too much investment (some gear innately have reflect traits + there's a certain treasure in Cauldros with ether reflect) and his offense is decent too, even if you don't invest that much.

It some cases it does matter what attribute you use for the sniper, but not really for the knife. The reason being that if you do not use an ether rifle with the skill Core Crusher, you risk destroying an appendage, which will remove the sleep status from Gradivus. Now this might not seem like much of an issue as you can just inflict sleep again (or target the main body instead of an appendage - however, even if you're not using CC, your damage will suffer if you're running Appendage Crusher augments). However, it is a different case for a sleep build that uses a sleep skell instead of the Screamer art. The sleep skell is used to inflict sleep just once using an F-Wave with the help of an ally's Draw Ranged purple soul voice, and keeps the enemy asleep for several minutes with the help of TimeEx.SLEEP augments, so you can't practically inflict sleep again, meaning that your run ends if the enemy wakes up from a destroyed appendage. So a sleep skell build should be used only if you're running ether + Core Crusher, otherwise use Screamer. You can still use Screamer if you're using ether + CC, but a sleep skell will make things easier, which is why it's used in the first place. This is a pretty old video; back then I did things differently compared to how I do them now and I didn't know better... and I wonder why I didn't even show the build in the video as well. But well, this build here isn't that optimised, so I would like to give advice on how to do this build in a better way. If you're still using Screamer, I recommend using a sniper with ranged attack up and boost (not all attributes/AMs will have both traits), 3 ranged attack augs, 3 Appendage Crusher augs + 1 AC trait on the knife + 1 more AC trait from the Rare Gauze Eyepatch headgear (so that's 5 ACs for the max damage bonus against 0-hardness apps - even if you're not running ether, it's good to use app crushers rather than go all for ranged attack). Armour will mostly include OD:Gain TP augs, ranged attack traits on the arms + OD:Count Up trait on either arm as well. This way, you can get to a high count quickly, and with the help of this + EZ Debuff Probe you probably won't even need Resistance Reducers. This doesn't use Soft Touch, so you can use the skill that allows you to use arts without waking up the enemy (idr what it's called), just don't auto-attack, or you can use both of the skills if you want so neither your arts nor autos wake them up. Other skills include Core Crusher (or if you're not using ether then make sure you inflict sleep upon breaking apps, or switch to a different app), Combo Gunner, and another one of your choice, like Secondary Accelerator, Boosted Bullets, etc. A sleep skell can make this work more easily, but only if you're running CC/not destroying apps. On the other hand, if you want to use a potential-based build, it's better to use a sleep skell. You will be using potential augs instead of OD:Gain TP, so you might not gain count as quickly (it depends). Using a sleep skell means that alongside with not needing Resistance Reducer augments (so they won't take up space for potential up/boost augments), as an ally's soul voice can help you inflict sleep, you will only need to inflict sleep once. You have more space for AC augs as you won't be using R. attack augs. This'll only work well if you're running CC. Also, it's good if your weapons have potential up/boost traits. Anyway, that's about it. I just wanted to point out how outdated this build was and that there are ways to optimise it. Also, given that you're here, you might want to check out the other XCX videos on this channel. They might interest you.

@@GoReadTheManga Thanks a lot for the explanation since that does help, and yeah I'll be looking through most of those as well to help me get some ideas too. ^^ I've been just trying to build at least something viable using Sniper as a main and with Shrapnel as one of the skills in the kit (some of the reasoning for that is a bit arbitrary honestly) But I've been taking as much different ideas as I can to be able to make something able to help me actually not just be able to tackle the superbosses, but actually be able to complete the game as a whole (I've been struggling with getting past Ch 11 of the main game, and I feel like some of it could be due to my artes setup too and not using them to the potential that they could be used for at the point I'm at)

Point items will always disappear when you leave the server. When you click the "load inventory" button, it loads the inventory setup you had saved and automatically buys point items if there were any saved. Also, I recall having experiences where sometimes the "save inventory" button doesn't work as intended, and ends up not updating my inventory.

@@GoReadTheManga thanks, It was fun with those special rounds like the ones in Calamus like Minus Prime where i almost died or or the Murasa round where I think I stood out the most since I was one of the few who survived there, just like the Abyys round.

​Even though it was a mess, I found parts of it fun too. Heck, it was a miracle I survived the Gabriel + Sisyphus round. I wish the Intruder round counted for our wins though (not the Crysten one because that broke).

Click the 'Switch to Inventory' button on the right after buying items. Right click on the items to equip/unequip them. The 'Load Inventory' button is used to load an inventory that you had saved so that when you rejoin the game you don't have to individually buy everything again (basically, it's a fast-buy button).

It's definitely not easy to win any war, but with the constant updates (new items to assist you) and expanded player base (more players now than before), I believe you should have a better opportunity to win one now, especially now that most fumos' targeting system has changed from target player to nearest target. Thanks to that, there's a little less luck required. If you play strategically, you'll be able to win eventually. I believe you can do it!
