Thanks - this was made during COVID using a built -in microphone - it was for my students. If I get a chance I'll redo it with much better sound.

I have tried Rhino from time to time and trying to learn the meaning of about, I don´t know, 400 icons, is really hard, besides that they are not very explicit, some are and some not. I discovered Altair Inspire Studio and with no more than 70 icons I think, I could built whatever it takes in a very fashion way with a very nice and simple interface. RHINO looks so old! Nice video anyway.

Hi Jose, thanks for the comment and thanks for suggesting a new package. Have you tried Plasticity yet?

Thanks, but even after your good effort I still struggling. Coming from Autocad I find Solidworks frustratingly unintuitive. Enough so, I find it not worth the effort.

Hi Jack, thanks for your comment. I've had to hop between many CAD programs in my career and always found it frustrating that the 'new' program couldn't do things the way the 'old' did. But it's just a matter of familiarity that makes one program seem intuitive and the next unintuitive - if one is comfortable with one way of doing things, the discomfort experienced when that's taken away makes the program seem un-intuitive. But if you're comfortable with Autocad, why would you want to move over to Solidworks? As long as you can get the job done, it matters little how you get there.

@@philduplessis7756 Thanks, I appreciate the reply. Why switch to Solidworks? #1, I've been away from cad for over a decade so it's a learning curve either way. I've tried Fusion 360 but solidworks seems a more developed and industry standard ecosystem.

@@jackoneil3933 Interesting, I'm considering crossing over to Fusion 360 because it's affordable (SW is outrageously expensive), but I guess one has to choose the package that's going to get you the most work? SW is phenomenally capable, but huge swathes of it go unused. I wish you luck whichever route you take.

@@philduplessis7756 Thanks, Fusion 360 seemed worth the money, but it may be lacking some of the features of SW. I have access to an SW group seat so my cost is nothing for the moment. I've spent a couple more days with SW 2020 and moving a bit faster but it seems needlessly cumbersome in many respects.
