let me know with the prob change. small engines work best with stock.my bigger boats the probs where needed to get the kind of power you want .low,med,top.

I say it is an AlumaCraft 1232 flat bottom jon boat - 11 feet 10 inches long by 32 inches wide at the bottom and 45 inches wide at the top, with a 15.5 inch tall transom and a hull weight of about 105 pounds. He shows the entire boat plainly in several other videos. I have one just like it that also needs a jack plate. I just bought a new 6 HP Suzuki short shaft for it and am having all the same issues.

Two reasons. first the sun cooks the metal bottom in texas,i spend 6-8 hours on the water. second the wood bottom spreads the weight ,so the rivets are not stress-= no leaks.

YES, came out perfect. handles great .planes quick.no transom flex,super strong. that`s with the stock prop,and the same motor tilt position as before.no changes to the angle of the motor,just higher i know my sh!t.had many boats with jack plates .it works....for my motor and boat.worth the time. i drove around more than fished.

I bought a Undercover 2090 for my '07 Flareside in 2009, it's still on the truck, no cracks, no issues except I did replace the battery in 2020. I have stood on it, I have hauled flat loads on it, I have driven it with the cover open with trash cans at the rear and cover pulled down on them with a strap. I love the cover. It's been to Georgia, Indianapolis, and all over points between.

Here's a dumb question about the gas cap. How do you get it off? It looks like it has some sort of latch system with a valve on top?

John there is never a dumb question! This is how people learn.(Dumb people never ask questions, this is why they are Dumb)The gas cap is is standard,but it has a link connected to it so it can not fall into the water,

the valve on top is the air , so the fuel does not get air lock,just open and close it.

I took the chance and stacked the wood on top of the transom like you had it but with no angles. then drill 4 holes straight down from the top and used these new structural screws they have out these days , they are hardened steel with aggressive threads and sealed on all sides including the drill hole and torqued them down, Now my cavitation plate is to spec. Got one season on it so far perfect but the real test is time verses elements be that the structural screws are steel and I did cheat and use treated lumbar for the wood both are no no`s with the sealer being at the only placce the steel goes thru it might last. Just fresh water in this baby. The screws come in different lengths so there is no problem of having enough steel in the transom for strength. Now I`d like to find away to get this little puppy to trim some what even at half throttle the bow is too high for my liking .
