No commentary? Poor choice of title. Was actually looking for some discussion on the topic.

I can see this working well, if someone had gone unconscious but was still breathing. Say knocked unconscious, having a seizure or post ictal, rebreather failure, anoxia or fainted etc. You’d have to be quick though, to pick it before they’d inhaled too much water. It’d be pretty hard going for the rescuer too, I’d imagine. BTW You guys did do well with the Plura recoveries. Regards.

Yes you are correct, need to be fast or comply with CE standard which is requiring safety mouthpiece. Standard is saying that loop needs to stay in the mouth even if CC diver goes unconscious. Most of the rebreather manufacturers do not care of this but personally I use it all the time and think it as a great safety device as well comfortable at cold waters. For OC diver this is not really an option. Thank you :-)

I need more info please. Did they just happen along this diver? Was this training? Did the unconscious person wake up? Who put this music to this video? Is this the cave which two guys named Yuri died on the same trip in?

This is a rescue practice during a cave diving course. All divers on the course was trying the rescue skill and all divers had to play "unconscious" diver at least once. This is to make people aware of the risks, and provide a tool set to handle the situation in case this would happen in real life. I put the music to the video, and thinks it fits pretty good for a skill practice video that is repeated many times.

I totally understand the love of the divers and they know the risks - but I would be more concerned about the people who would lug my lifeless body in event of my demise. I once had car crash (spooked by deer, smashed into tree - i was the only injured and totalled the car) and even that kept busy A LOT of firemen and medics and then felt bad about it.

The music is completely out of place.

Fake. You wouldn’t be able to hear music like that down there . I know, I tried throwing a boom box in the pool when I was a kid. It sucked!

On the bright side at least things like people are lighter underwater. Have to practice on dry land dragging a large guy with all the gear on would be a nightmare
