An honest and straight forward review, thanks. I have just purchased this effect as like you I was intrigued as to the method, which is ingenious. My plan is to come up with a way to make this into a bizarre magic presentation which I will then feature on my KZbin channel. Quite a challenge, but I have wanted to do this with a 'plastic' Tenyo effect for some time.

Thanks for the great review Jonny !! when I first started playing around w it I too found it not sticky enough. Instead of Octopalm, I used the sticky stuff that comes w Double Cross-- very sticky and zero issues. Still practicing a bit before take it out in the wild!! Be well my friend.

Hey David, It is nice to hear I am not alone in the stickiness stuff. I must also admit that I do not have Double Cross. I know that may be weird as it seems everybody and their cousin has it but I do not and therefore am not familiar with what is used there for the stickiness. Good luck and I am confident you will be awesome with it once you bring it out into the wild. Take care my friend.

I love my set of these wonderful shells! The use of walnut shells has been overdone in my opinion. These have the unusual shape of a tortoise shell, which is very unique. Like anything from TCC, the are wonderful to look at and feel great in the hand. Highly recommended from my point of view. Kudos to Jonny for the review and kudos to TCC for another superb product.

Hi Jonny. Hope all is well in your world. Thanks for another detailed review. To be honest, for a while now I've found very few tricks inspire me enough that i want them. (Probably because i have too many already) This is another one of those. Appreciate all you do. Cheers4now. Gary

Hey Gary, I really appreciate your perspective because I often feel the same way. If I were not doing these reviews I would not be picking up as many effects as there becomes a point that there is so much we can already do with the effects we already have. If there is something I want it really does have to inspire me. There are the Tobias Dostal releases of recent that do inspire me. Alright I am rambling now. Good to hear from you and stay vigilant on purchasing only the things that inspire. Take care my friend.

It's a classic method, and I think it will fly for lots of people, but as someone who performs for STEM workers I don't think I'd do this one. The method is the one you'd think of, and I guarantee they will be thinking haha. Thanks for the review!
@fiddlinjonny
@fiddlinjonny 7 күн бұрын
I must admit that I struggled a little with this one in the way that you describe because I too suspect that many will work out the method. To be honest I have not performed this out as much as I usually do with releases before I review them but in time suspect I will have a better feel for how this plays for muggles and if they work out the most likely solution. Take Care.

@@fiddlinjonny I'm sure the routine is well constructed, but when backtracking it just seems like people will think about the envelopes. There are lots of "you picked the only different card" type effects that use methods that are very difficult to backtrack. Gaffed cards followed by a packet switch is basically impossible, for example. I've had people sitting there staring at examinable cards and there is no way they can figure it out because they'd have to think of 2 or 3 different methods and how I'd layered them together. Not everything has to be deeply fooling but I feel like this one is too close to the other extreme. You take care too!

Thanks for the review. I own the set, as well as a few others. The shells are a bit heavy, but for ne that isn't an issue. The balls supplied with this set are on the small side. Visually that takes away a bit from the routine. Regular size peas, on the other hand, do work perfectly with this set as well. Even for the grip that is specific to this set regular size peas will do the trick.
@fiddlinjonny
@fiddlinjonny 10 күн бұрын
Hello Gert I couldn't agree more as it is related to the Pea size on these. I wish they were larger for the exact reason you mention that they could be easier to see for an audience. I like that they are a bright yellow and I think that helps but the red ones for the color change are not good for me as I use a red mat often times when I perform. I will likely look for a larger object resembling the pea. Thanks for being here and thanks for adding in the comments.

Hi Mate Thanks for the great review. I'm glad u like it! You are the only review that mentions the other objects one can use. I now make comedic feature of the box as a back up to my normal music. I apologise the the normal background music seems to be not working. Bring out music box. It gets a good laugh due to the ridiculous nature of this. Just mentioning it. Also the obviuos fact tgat the Box isnt designed to be loud. It is what it is. Its very strong effect and have used it mainly in wedding gigs. But it has played well with a marked coin in kids' shows. Regards 😊

Clever patter can excuse the sound... coin busting through, yada. Can the base be examined? I'd say the heat is there, but if *everything* can be examined, it's quite a fooler. Sometimes things that look "magicy" (as in props that are clearly magic trick) can be super fun!
@prawnee9827

Of course the base can’t be examined. The method is clever and well engineered though. Fun piece.
@fiddlinjonny
@fiddlinjonny 17 күн бұрын
Hey Rand, Hope you are doing well. Great question. I would say no to handing out the base as the method will likely be discovered if they are holding it for 20 or 30 seconds, maybe even faster. I agree with you when it comes to some of the magicy looking stuff. I have seen stuff that looks cheap but still fools me. I think this will be fun for a lot of people and with the right patter will be great. Thanks for being here.

Hello Neural, great to hear from you and hope you are doing well. I must admit the look of TCCs Wonder Tube is really GOOD!!!! They really do a great job on bringing back some of the classic props. On this release I honestly do not feel you have to use the gimmick included to insert the ring or any other object and can be optional depending on how you want to do it. The gimmick is best used if you are going to ensure that the borrowed object is put into the red sash they include. I think if you like this type of effect and a really nice prop then you will likely like it. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. Take Care.
