Hey Jonny! Nice review as always and actually a product I own 😂 Love it, easy to use out of the box but I've made a few changes, I made a mesh of things, used the idea of Eddie Raymond of R&S with a Double Decker and lets just say it became more jeans friendly 😅, it isn't necessary, just a personal choice. Solid buy for anyone looking for an index, and with all of the Dex videos out there you'll have a ton of ideas. Hope you are doing great, Best of regards Ezequiel

Hey Johnny, If this is nothing more than a machine precision cut coin to slide over the lighter then it's nothing more than teaching the buyer the handling of making the switch. In that case I would think it's over priced and I would feel like I got screwed without the kiss. In your struggle to remove the coin from the lighter in the review, I can clearly see you're holding one coin behind the other. Just for the record, I'm a relativity new follower of yours and truly appreciate and enjoy your reviews. Keep up the good work, -Keith from Ohio

Hello Keith, I love your comment and I think you hit on some really key points. You have nailed exactly what the gimmick is and I think based upon that people have to make the choice if at the price point it is right for them. I would however say that the tutorial is better than what I would have expected given how easy it is to perform. There are a lot of good routining ideas and demonstrations on it that I think add more value. I was a bit horrified when I watched the review and can see how the two coins are showing. This is one of those things I realize on doing these that a lot of time in these reviews I do them really close to the camera so the viewer can see but in the real life situation there is substantially greater distance from the spectator, but still a massive flash on that. I appreciate you being here and leaving the comment. I look forward to seeing more in the future. Take care and have an awesome day.

A very nice review - just palming for the switch in needed? Do you think it will work with a "FLAME" Lighter? I would not want to modify either one. Can you just put the coin on the "flame" side which you said was easier? Thanks, ED
@fiddlinjonny
@fiddlinjonny 12 күн бұрын
Hi Ed, great to hear from you and hope you are doing well. It will not work well with the Flame lighter because the gimmicked coin just won't fit on it well. I suspect it will be lose and people will just see that there is a hole in the gimmick. It really is custom to the Bic lighter. In regards to the second part of putting the gimmick on the flame side. So here is a little of the method if you may already be aware of. The gimmicked coin is already loaded on the lighter prior to doing the penetration. So you could easily put the coin on the lighter from the flame side. The routines are all set up to appear as if it is penetrating from the bottom of the lighter or the middle of the lighter. So you can still do the effect and load it from the flame side and unload it from the flame side. I hope that helps and makes sense and if not just keep asking. oh and really it is only palming the coin. Thanks for watching and asking. Take Care.

Mexie, you hit it right on the head regarding carrying a lighter with you. Let's face it, only smokers will likely be carrying a lighter and others not so much. I got this as part of a mystery box from a magic shop. The box the card comes in is lovely, but the card itself is very shoddily made. It's very thin (it's literally see-through) and became badly creased after a couple of practice goes. The performance itself is easy enough, but the lack of quality in the gimmick card has made me not want to use it.

Hi Jonny, i wondered where youd been mate? Glad you're back. Last weekend i performed some magic at a local birthday party. Truth is i wasn't asked to perform and it's possible that some guests may have thought i was slightly intrusive! However i was determined to show off and a couple of times i even demanded attention! "Come on. Look at me!" By the end of the evening i think i may have won a few people over and they enjoyed themselves. But by that time i was past caring. I'd drank a lot of beer and was happy. ............. It was my 70th birthday and i had a blast. (So apprehensive about that number but trying to embrace it) Cheers Jonny 😊

What are your favourite Paul Harris presents products ?
@fiddlinjonny
@fiddlinjonny 24 күн бұрын
Hi Jonah, this is such a great question. Ok I have a number of effects by Paul Harris that I really like. To be honest I really like the earlier version of Deep X that is called Deep Clear. I like that version much better, I find it easy to perform and always gets a good reaction. Unfortunately I lost the wallet for that version in the last couple of years so I haven't performed it since. I really need to buy it again and start performing it again. The one I like the most is probably Steam 2.0. It is one that I used to perform a lot. It is not always 100% guaranteed that you get the peek but I like the concept and when it works it is really awesome. Also I think there is a lot of creativity you can do with Steam 2.0. Those are the ones I like best. But at the end of the day his books the Art of Astonishment sticks in my mind a lot. Mostly it his thinking that I like and find myself trying to integrate into the other effects that I perform. I hear Paul Harris's voice a lot in my head when putting a routine together and trying to create that moment of astonishment and understanding why. Okay I could drone on and on but I do love his thinking and respect what he has brought to magic. Thanks for asking the question. Do you have any favorites?

Thank you for the review. I can see how some one who has never owned a Wow gimmick would be "underwhelmed". I own (almost) every version of the Wow gimmick. The only one I don't have is the version that is included with this wallet and I've been trying to get one for a while. I already know how the gimmick works. So, for me, I feel that I am paying for a Wow gimmick inside a "leather-ish" wallet. I feel that it makes the gimmick more acceptable "in the real world". I thought I would hear some flaws with the gimmick or the wallet or the quality of the physical product. So thank you for the review. Your review has absolutely convinced me to buy this! 😃

Thanks for the GREAT review on this. A bit about myself.... I'm a twice retired senior who enjoys going to karaoke bars to sing and also to entertain (not gamble) in between songs. I like things that are EASY, simple (packet card tricks work great as they aren't time consuming), also I LOVE "Ties & Loops" and "Mental Die". I'm at the point where I'm VERY SELECTIVE in what I buy as it has to play in with what I have. I think this would be great going along with my Mental Die. With what it is and what I have.... I think the price is fair. I do have a concern with the video not being in English but also think I can get through it. I went to the Hanson Chen website and bought his "Scotch & Whiskey" and LOVE it (at the time of purchase it was backorder and pre-pay but worth it). It too is quality made, very quick and very visual. In closing...... sorry for this being so long and drawn out, but I really DO APPRECIATE the time you took to make and share this video. Hi Jonny, I really LOVED this video....... I'm Terry and I'm a senior (71 years young) and I love performing at karaoke bars in between songs, sometimes I just do magic. I NEVER approach anyone, I like doing things visual so as those interested can come up to me. I really like using Ties/Loops and bouncing a straw in my beer bottle then floating a bill....... its quite visual from across the bar. I also have the "Mental Die" and use that when someone comes up wanting to see more..... and I have a few packet tricks..... (no full deck tricks as I like to keep them short so as not to lose their attention span, thus I prefer ones that use gaff cards. As for Crazy Sam's Mind..... I think this would play well with what I enjoy and currently have, I looked at it before but had reservations as I have heart issues and have a pace maker with a ICD (built in defibrillator). I was fearful that the method of this might be something "shocking" and I wouldn't be able to use that. As for my skill level, I consider myself just barely above beginner, but if I feel its something that will look cool/strongly visual from a distance, I'll put in the practice. Anyway...... thanks for the great review........ I'm probably going to order it now along with several refills. Sincere Thanks...... T. Any comments (nothing rude) I welcome those

Waiting for Big Picture to be delivered. Watched a couple of videos on KZbin. I am thinking of using a Himber Wallet.

Thank you Sir. Yeah it is one of those subtleties that most folks will not think about but for those who are Sharp enough (see what id did there?) it is all right there. And thanks for the pun. We need more puns.

Only problem with CCK is it's the paddle move which is presented in just about every cheap $10 magic set you can buy and like the DL and riffle force is pretty much "out there" in the public domain. Regal's set with the swiss army knife was nice but horrendously overpriced. I guess the multi colour knife gives a similar ending, but it's not as clean/nautural as the red swiss army knife. Nice fiddle tune 😊

Hello PreservationEnthusiast, thanks so much for the comment. I loved your comment because it challenges me a little on my own thinking. I personally think the DL is so overdone and performed poorly that as a move I think it can be suspicious and therefore takes away from the effect as the move often to me looks suspicious on some subconscious level for our participants. I don't feel as strong about the paddle move. I think that is a move that despite is easy to find these days and exposed on the internet is still a good move. I will qualify it however in that it needs to be executed well. If not enough practice is put in I think it too becomes suspicious looking but if done well will fly over the heads of most spectators. Well at least that is my experience. Thanks for leaving the comment and making me think a little more about these moves. Take care and thanks for being here and contributing. Have a great day.

I think the David Regal set suits me better, as I like the Swiss Army finish, but these are less expensive, and include different options that others might prefer. Also I'm a big guy and as you say the Regal ones a little bigger which I prefer. Thanks for the review! And regarding classic routines: I agree they're classics for a reason! Most people have never seen a magician perform at all. Skipping the classics doesn't make much sense since it's some of the best material ever, and it's very likely your spectators have never seen it performed.

Hey MathMusicStructure good to see ya here. I think that people are going to gravitate towards one or the other. I must admit that the Swiss army knife included in David's is pretty cool. The subtleties of that knife set are really nice. Take care.
