The ladies looked average, the downtown was so plain. It does not have the culture of the other two large cities, New York and Chicago.

I don't agree. You didn't mention the crime. Also in terms of buying a house, for a million dollars you get a old, small house in the hood.

I'm looking to get into tech through either digital marketing/content creator. I do not have any experience and just got a scholarship for Udacity. Hoping to start from there. Great video of information. Thank you Bri.

Loved the video! But im going to have to disagree on the public transportation. Born and raised in Los Angeles. if you stay in the city limits of Los Angeles, you can get around. The transportation here is good, not great but good. It’s not like Houston, or Atlanta. LA is spread out, however all the cities are connected so you can get to Pasadena to Santa Monica or you can go from Long Beach to downtown within an hour and some change on the train in LA city limits and don’t have a car, You can get around UNLESS you tryna go up into the Hollywood Hills, Calabasas, Malibu etc then yes you need a car, lift, or Uber. Btw, congratulations on your marriage! Wishing you and your husband nothing but more blessings.

This has been the most informative video I have found on KZbin! We're currently planning a micro wedding while still trying to pay off other debts so the idea of restaurant weddings or small venues that include tables/chairs/etc is definitely a must lol. Thank you for all the tips! ❤

Ty! This was super helpful. I'm curious why you put dating as a con when you met your husband there after a month! Seems like a win to me :D Curious how you met if you ever wanted to make a dating in LA video...

Just finished & had to come hear other’s thoughts on the book. It was a great book, one of my best reads in a while. So well written. I was disappointed at the ending but the way you put it gave me a different perspective and you’re so right. The ending was very realistic & fitting. I guess I just hoped for a beautiful fairytale ending like the Color Purple or something🥹

It reminded me of a Toni Morrison ending lol. Just regular, no fairytale. Sometimes it’s nice and sometimes I want a little something more.

Hi Bri! I saw this video back when I was in Highschool. I'm now at university studying Marketing. While it is giving me great foundational theory, I'm wondering how to acquire hard skills in marketing? I have experience with a social media marketing job but I really want to get into the tech industry. Any advice?
@friendscallmebri
@friendscallmebri 2 ай бұрын
Hey Ellie! I recommend doing some research on what areas of marketing are expected to see the most growth in the future + what aligns with your interests. Sounds like you’re on the right track with having a job that gives you real world experience. Start networking and continue to go for internships / summer jobs

I live in Boston and have been planning to relocate to LA for about a year now to build out my podcast and coaching business. I'd like to build my network in LA to help enhance my podcast and get guests on that are in entertainment. I'm interested to hear people's opinions on whether it's worth the move to LA for this reason?

I finally figured out how to be consistent. I took note of what I did that made me excited to learn the language and kept doing that. What made me most excited was actually spending money on language learning. Because it makes me see it as an investment rather than something I do passively. I’m the type that loves learning and trying new things. So instead of always doing the same thing, I’m constantly buying new books, researching new things, and meeting new people in my target language. It’s been over a month now and I’ve studied for hours every single day. In not just one, but two languages: French and Korean. I’m intermediate in French so it’s easier to learn Korean because they’re not competing with each other. My hacks, I rarely take notes and don’t use flashcards. My vocab has significantly increased. I focus on learning vocab in context. I watch a ton of videos: movies/tv shows and KZbin vlogs in the language. And I also learn new vocab in writing sentences and reading stories. It teaches me how to use the vocab and in what context.

Okay polyglot! Korean and French, that’s so dope ☺️ Thanks for the tip about learning vocab in context. I’ll continue doing that.

I have an extensive network and still unemployed after over a year. 😢 Everyone knows I’m looking and I’m also going to in-person events. I couldn’t even get an entry-level marketing role in tech, they told me they chose someone who had tech industry experience instead. If i can’t even get the bare minimum job, I don’t know what I can get. I just gave up on tech and trying to get into marketing agencies. A lot of people I know that get into Big Tech started their careers in start-ups and rose up the ranks or marketing/advertising agencies that worked with similar companies.

That’s what I’ve heard from peers, too, especially on the creative side. It’s best to do agency first. I’m not on the creative side, but I had start up experience prior. I hope you’re able to find a job soon. It’s seems especially hard right now for new grads or people without industry experience.

Another book that was helpful to read is Passing by Nella Larsen. It was writtened in the 1920s. Though this is not the book that inspired Brit Bennett in writting The Vanishing Half. I think it's a great book to read. Passing has an adaption in Netflix that's pretty good too. New York Times Bestseller is determined by sales numbers. I believe if it's over 10k you can get on the list. The Vanishing Half was also a best seller in 2020. It debuted at #1 not sure how long it stayed on but I do remember it being a very popular book.
