My plan is it use it for my classroom. Am I able to change the color of the first letter of a name to red and the rest of the letters black?
@TheCraftsChannel20 күн бұрын
I believe so. You would probably need to do the names as two separate words in two different colours - E in red and liana in black, and then remove the gap between them, c x

One more question. Does it have the century gothic font or something very close to it. I need a font that caries the letter a that’s written how we normally write the letter a. Not like this -> a
@TheCraftsChannel20 күн бұрын
@@elianasantiago9724 I've just looked on the app for it on my phone. It doesn't have Century gothic but there are several fonts with the correct style of 'a', like Atlanta, Berlin, Brunei, Brussels, and Futura. You can also use fonts from your laptop/pc if you run the machine from there. Have a look at the app - www.brother.co.uk/labelling-and-receipts/color-label-editor-2-app if you can, it will show you all the options, c x

Would the 1/5th rule apply to a slightly more oval shape as well? I'm trying to figure out plush "wedding rings" for furry costumes. I'm not sure if a perfect circle will work. Am going to try. BUT. If I end up needing a more oval shape because of the fingers, I'd love some insight before I waste materials :')
@TheCraftsChannel22 күн бұрын
It should work, but I can't think where you'd be best to take the fifth out, whether it's from the flatter edge of the oval or the curve. In all honestly the circular ring could be squished into an oval as long as it's not too firmly stuffed. Have you got an old pillowcase or similar that you could test it on first? c x
@Kotori17421 күн бұрын
@@TheCraftsChannelI've got some extra cotton fabric scraps I'll be testing the oval shape on before I use my shiny material! I have a pattern ready, and I'll be sure to let you know what ends up working best in terms of placement for the 1/5th rule with the oval! 🥰

did you find the colours and quality of it printed very off?
@TheCraftsChannel29 күн бұрын
Because of the process in reproducing the prints (heat activated crystals in the paper I think), the colours and quality are never going to be the same as a traditionally printed photo. It's great for instant printing though, c x

Great tutorial, thank you! Newbie here. I would add a small sewn in label on the side ( the kind that sticks out like a little flag), just not sure how to position it so that it’s sewn in when flipping the pouch at the end. Can anybody help?
@TheCraftsChannelАй бұрын
Possibly your best bet (although a bit more work) is to make a rough from scrap fabric, mark the position on the outside of the finished rough, and then unpick so you can accurately mark the position on your template. Also remember to sew the label between the pieces of outer fabric rather than the lining, c x

I have watched the turning out of that strap over and over and I just don’t get it, it doesn’t work at all for me…
@TheCraftsChannelАй бұрын
I'm not sure how to help. Make sure the end of the strap is stitched closed and then gently push the closed bit inside the straw with the knitting needle. Once the end is in by about 5-10mm you should be able to easily slide the fabric that's on the straw onto the knitting needle and when it's all gathered on there, remove the straw, grab the closed up end of the strap and slide the gathered fabric along the rest of the knitting needle till it's all turned out. Maybe your strap is too tight for the knitting needle? c x
@thebeckyclarkeАй бұрын
@@TheCraftsChannel ah ok, so the top bit goes in the straw but the rest pulls over the needle, I see! Honestly it was taking me longer to do this bit than the rest of the bag haha Thanks!

Hi Karin. Thanks for the great video. Can you tell me what options for art on canvas for young kid, and will dry properly and be easy to use. Pens markers, etc. Is it possible not to prep the canvas with white paint first? Thank you!
@TheCraftsChannelАй бұрын
Hi, there are loads of options and it's not necessary to prep the canvas first, I just did that so that I could have more control over how much colour soaked in and to give me more time to manipulate the paint while it was still wet. Paint pens are definitely the least messy option but brushes give a totally different style of artwork so you could try mixing the two. Also try adding torn paper collage with pva glue, or scraps of fabric, c x

How difficult would it be to waterproof this?
@TheCraftsChannel2 ай бұрын
You could try coating the fabric with a waterproofing paste called Odicoat before cutting and sewing together. Alternatively you could sew the outer or lining from a plastic coated cotton. It would still only be splash/shower proof as water will still be able to get into the stitch holes and the opening, c x
