I don’t have kids or a wife. I hope to have a husband someday, and maybe a gf and kids when ready.

Thank you! I was prepping the toddler’s Christmas presents (i.e. making sure things work, are unattached from packaging, charged) and was getting SO frustrated when I couldn’t easily locate the switch to turn it off Demo Mode.

I’ve been known to give what some would consider “too many gifts”, particularly to my Dad when he was alive and my partners, but I’ve never had anyone set boundaries with me over it. It was to the point where I’d start shopping for next Christmas immediately after Christmas was over and continue to pick up things throughout the year. However, the goal was never to make myself feel good, it was to make the recipient feel loved, special, appreciated and all of my gifts were always well thought out and the only thing that made me really excited was, “oh man I can’t wait to see their face when they open this! They’re going to flip!” That said, it may have still been problematic without my being aware of it because no one ever had the uncomfortable conversation of setting a boundary with me. I say this because I was also, at one time, the recipient of an over gifter, and have since stopped over gifting completely because of it. The gifts I got were what you’re mentioning - themed amalgamations of random items that I still own for whatever reason but I don’t particularly like them, they’re not used or displayed, they’re just shuffled around my home because I feel guilty getting rid of them because it feels ungrateful and extremely rude to do so … that person is no longer in my life, but my point is - I never SAID anything because I didn’t know HOW TO without hurting them. Feeling that first hand made me realize how my excitement to get a bunch of gifts for a loved one may not be reciprocated and how they may be afraid to tell me out of fear of hurting my feelings, so I was able to course correct on my own, but I really appreciate this topic being brought up because not everyone who IS an over-gifter has been on the receiving end of that, or maybe those boundaries haven’t been set by the receiver but hearing how it affects them from someone else may encourage them to 1) change or 2) at least ask the people they do it to if it’s too much. These days I stick to online wishlists. If you want me to consider getting you something for the holidays, have an online wishlist and give me access to that page but please have enough things on there for me to choose from because I’m only sending one, MAYBE two items (cost dependent) and if there’s not enough to browse, it won’t be a surprise for you which ruins it for everyone involved.

Honestly because you're content just makes men feel ashamed. You always criticise incompetent father or terrible men but you never ever have the same energy when it comes to incompetent mothers or terrible women. Why follow a page, when it drills in constant negative examples of your gender but gives the other gender a miss ?

This is one of my favorite of your tips 👍 Related note - following your advice about gift selection means you can better be confident enough to not "keep it unopened in case you need to return it".

We need more legal protections for kids in the entertainment industry, and expand all protections to include monetized social media. Personally, I think it's safest to never name or show children at all until they are old enough (teen, probably) and give informed consent. Like how Momma Cusses does it. My husband thinks child performers, including for family vlogs, should be simply illegal. I think that's a drastic measure, but I'd still greatly prefer it over our current system.
