Ok, but can you use a winch as a hoist ?

By definition something manufactured and sold as a winch is only for pulling, a hoist for lifting. Though the winch will lift some weight the braking mechanism is different and is only meant for preventing something from going down an slope.

It gets confusing...Lots of words ... your face is all we see....no match to what you are talking about....how about using illustrations to go along with the words? Interesting concepts to talk about....poor video.... :(.
