Wow Kenny, what an incredible story! I love that you've shared it here too for people a bit further away. I'm heart warmed that your family received such a warm welcome to the community as refugees, so much so that your Dad eventually became mayor of the town! It's really moving especially given recent events.

This was done for the rugby world cup years ago. I think it was first sung by Kiri Te Kanawa.

Its an old song written by Gustav holtz. I tried to get hold of him to seek his approvel but he died a long time ago. There will be a new flash mob coming later this year. Stay close.

It seems that they're singing a song that's well-known to the audience.
@FishguardandGoodwick9 ай бұрын
The renowned British composer Gustav Holst penned this composition, passing away in 1934. Surprisingly, his creation found a modern-day resonance as the anthem for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Given Wales' fervent passion for rugby, the anthem was already a familiar and cherished tune among the Welsh. It's noteworthy that the choir, not the producer, made the selection, and I couldn't have been more delighted with their choice.

Just come across this - wonderful. Love the sentiments of the song, the singing , and the dancing. Well done to all of those responsible. More of it. Thank you.

I appreciate your kind words. The composition, crafted by the British composer Gustav Holst, carries a timeless significance. Penned in 1934, its relevance persists in 2023 and seemingly will forever. I am Presently in Cyprus, exploring the prospect of orchestrating a flash mob here. For me, flash mobs epitomizes the, offering of impromptu performances to unsuspecting audiences without any cost. These spontaneous displays are truly a heartfelt gift from the performers.

and so so relevant to world events, this was October 21st 2023, when the onslaught on Gaza was bursting on the world, it has gathered momentum til today, but I do ask myself which is stronger, the love and tradition shown by this Welsh community singing for world harmony or the hate and total destruction.

Humans are wired to form tribes and fight each other. The best we can do, is to transfer that desire to sports fields. I, myself am human, doomed to align myself with one group or another. The best we all can do, is to work the areas of influence we have to show and emphasize the other side of humanity. Make it stand taller.

@@FishguardandGoodwick No denying the talented voices. I'm less a fan of opera though but thanks for the recommendation. It sounded like a sad song but I have no idea what they were saying. I kind of thought the piano could use a short tuning session also.
