It's not that special. It's using the same techniques people have been using for 60 years now (panning, equalization, effects) I bet you think there's such a thing as "HD sound" too. 😂

​@@solzzz I had to do some googling since I don't have surround sound, I listen to everything in stereo. And this helps me stay sane after years of audio engineering training and work. I don't mind surround sound but it's an expense I've never been able to afford. After doing my research, I found out you are correct, it uses 5.1 surround sound. Whether or not the tracks we're listening to are mixed/mastered for 5.1 channels is something I can't really comment on without having surround sound. Most music audio is mastered in stereo, but exceptions do exist. I even worked on a project where I engineered the music for 7.1 surround to be played during a live show (probably some of my best work). I can definitely say calling it "8D" is another new and deceptive marketing tactic that the industry is fraught with. Simply calling it 5.1 Surround would be more accurate. Happy listening.
