Sometimes the things we want most in life are real life, and we can always find them outside of a painting. The reason Dorian was so dependent on that painting is because that was the only time he ever saw an image of himself, because he had never seen himself before. That portrait of him gave him the only sense of himself that he could show to others. He had no other means of connecting with others, or understanding himself. That’s why it started to age and deform instead of him, and that’s why he was so fixated with being young and beautiful forever.

Filmi aslında izlemedim ve izlemeyi düşünmüyorum ama belki izlerim ancak sadece gerçekten ben Barnesin o zamanlardaki gençliği gerçektende çok taş ve mükml olduğu için merak etmiştim, filmin ara sahneleri ile karşılaşmıştım ancak konuyu pek anlamamıştım ama her neyse kadının ölmesi üzücü, açıkçası bu karakterle sirius blackin gençliği olarak gösterildiği için karşılaşmıştım ve doğru söylemek gerekirse ben Barnes için ilgilendim ancak klip çok hoş olmuş beğendim❤

segun lo que leí en el libro, Sibyl es una chica que trabaja en el teatro y Dorian es el protagonista que de casualidad va a verla actuar y se enamora profundamente así como ella de el, pero una noche invita Dorian a sus amigos para que la vean actuar, justo un día después de pedirle matrimonio, y ella actúa pésimo, sus amigos se decepcionan. Dorian se da cuenta que solo la amaba por su actuación (aunque en realidad no era asi) y rompe con ella de una manera muy mala (ella en realidad solo actuaba mal para que la despidieran y se casaran). Al final Dorian se arrepiente y le escribe una carta, pero se da cuenta que esa misma noche, Sibyl se suicidó y la toma por egoísta, en ese momento Dorian se va pudriendo.

@@gabrielagarcia7421De hecho, como forma complementaria a la primera respuesta, en la película cambian la razón de su rompimiento. Allí, el amigo mala influencia del protagonista lo lleva a un tipo burdel en la noche, donde lo presiona para que fume (lo que tengo entendido yo, una droga fuerte); entonces esa misma noche tiene relaciones con unas chicas prostitut4s, Sybil se da cuenta de ésto y tienen una discusión medio heavy. Luego de romper el compromiso, ella se suicid4 ahogándose en un río (a diferencia de la novela, que se envenena); Dorian no se da cuenta de ésto hasta que el hermano de Sibyl se lo dice, le entrega la prenda con la que se mató y luego intenta hacerle la morición a él también. En la película Dorian (el prota) reacciona con más shock y hasta llora, cosa que en la novela no pasa y me gustó que añadieran.

Their relationship would be the rescue for both of them. She from living in other's stories and being a prisoner of other's lives. He would drop out everything Henry told him. In the book, he says that for her and because of her all advice he listened to is worthless and disgusting. And when you think he fully falls in despair after her death.

@@toony1232 hi! so after two years, me rereading the book, it becoming my favourite book and at the end writing my graduation thesis on it; I can say that Dorian never loved her in a way that we generally perceive love. She was just a pretty thing for him, which was fine, because he viewed himself as a pretty thing. For him the idea of love was aesthetic admiration and he was confused with both Sybil and Basil's love, because they loved him in a way he couldn't understand. Hope you got what I mean, I wouldn't want to bother you with a long essay comment. :)

In a way, both Dorian and Sybli remained forever young. Sybil by dying she never had to grow older, and retained the goodness of her soul, whereas Dorian opted to live forever young, but was rotten underneath
