Gears 2 was epic and when I got to this scene and was unexpectedly brought to tears. The Last of Us and Uncharted 3 had a similar effect on me 🐉

Holy shit this game was dark. Holy shit. Can you imagine, you waited so long and searched so far to find her or him. And you finally find her only to see your wife or gf tortured, unrecognizable and what's more she doesn't even recognize you. Lobotomized and vegetalized. Tortured crazy. And now on top of all that pain, you have to kill her as mercy. That would rip my heart out

In my early 20s I thought I was Dom. But now at 31 I realize I’m Marcus. No significant other super close but if my Dom needs a silent strong hand I’m fucking there for him. I love my Dom more than my own god damned life and if he looked at me and said “we’re going to the bowels of hell to bring her back” I’d load my lancer and say let’s do this

I played Gears growing up, as a kid this scene struck something primal deep within me. I saw the locust in a completely different light and made sure that everyone of their corpses were completely obliterated before moving on.
