Has Tyler ever confirmed the "attenuation" is intentional when the unplugged volume channel is raised? Odd that a 2-input 5E3 would have the channels jumped by default. Sounds like the wrong capacitor was used and is being overloaded. Does the same thing happen when plugged into Normal and raising the Bright volume? How about when using a Y cable?
@jmansf37 ай бұрын
That is a characteristic of the way the channels are combined internally. The Fender 5E3’s function the same way. To my ears it also scoops the miss some too. Very interactive. Haven’t tried it with a y cable. Can always reach out to John Brinton! He’s a great guy and can answer any questions you have regarding design!

The Tyler SC-6 is largely overlooked for a 20-20 at bedroom volumes. Same size cab and speaker, but with a 5 watt circuit instead of 20. (Compare to Victoria 5112)
@jmansf37 ай бұрын
Interesting. Haven’t had the chance to try one of those yet. I use my 20-20 for gigging regularly. I’ve since had John Brinton put in a master volume and changed the cab and speaker to. 15”. Killer amp!!!!

Did you have this patched through a Tyler? Looking at getting one. Would just patch in the front of the amp them? New at the whole Helix thing. Great job BTW.
@jmansf3 Жыл бұрын
Thanks!! This one was direct with no amps. 100% Helix. The Helix does however pair up nicely with my Tyler’s. I now use a combination of some analog pedals for drive and an HX Stomp for everything else. My Tyler’s are a JT46 and a 20/20. Which one are you thinking about?

Nice DEMO. Guess you never did the follow up with the helix going into the Tyler. would have loved to have seen/HEAR that one. I use an old Vox Tonelab SE into a Vox AC30 with the AC's controls in a neutral Clean setting to use all the different type Amps which the Vox TL has in it, same kind of format as a helix the MODELLER type, not the photographic capture/profile type which works differently, as a result those need like 17 presets for ONE AMP type, vs. maybe 3 for a Modelller type: those being of course: clean, mid gain, high Gain settings, which with the modeller type you tweak to get the 3 presets. Today with all these Modeller/capture types it is hard to decide what to chance investing in. IT is like a KID in a CANDY STORE, these days.

I’ve been bad with the videos lately. I really need to do that one because I think the Helix pairs GREAT with this amp. Something I’ve struggled with a lot over the years!!

@@jmansf3 Helix just released a new update 3.6, in it is a Grammatico dumble clone, amongst some other tasty tidbits. I may yet have to get a helix stomp, it is either that or the Tonex Pedal, but both are 2 different type in how Sounds are done with, I never did kemper/quadC, or any that are the Photographic band style. I might get it hate it and have to sell it, so Who knows.

@@ksharpe10 haven’t had a chance to load the update yet. I use the HX Stomp on my main board for effects only but also as a backup rig if needed.

@michaelbackhus1923 Жыл бұрын
"One of metals biggest acts" If you look up Dokken's touring history, they almost always had an opener slot. They were rarely the headliner with the exception of a few theater sized shows only after an album release. Always the bridesmaid, rarely the bride. Many up and coming bands would have a hit and Dokken would be opening for them. They weren't even close to "one of metals biggest acts" J Priest, Dio. D Leppard, Maiden, Scorpions etc. were metals biggest acts in the 80s. I was there.
