Not worth 2000, I just got this and as I was putting it together, it is a cheap Chinese manufactured, kit, do not buy! I'll be returning it

At this point, everything good that Sonor makes has gotten wayyyy too pricey due to inflation. Kick and toms do sound amazing once you dial them in BUT the snare sounds too boxy in the room, the tom mounts isolate less than you think (especially with toms on stands), the included hardware pack is shit and the chipped / uneven bearing edges have made it a pain for me to tune quickly and keep in tune. It is also a pain to resell, at least where I live. After 5 years of experience with the kit, knowing what I know now, I'd say I wouldn't have bought it even when it costed 900€. I've ended up having to trade it for a Yamaha Stage Custom and then reselling that, still losing a boatload of money in the process. If you're a beginner who wants Sonor, try the AQX with some upgrades or some higher end / vintage used kit. If you're an amateur who knows what you're doing or working musician, find an old Select Force kit and complete it yourself if needed. That's a sure way to not get disappointed.

Here's what I'm waiting for... Kick... Snare... 1 rack tom... 1 floor tom.. but make all of them the same size and the biggest size. Hihats.. biggest size... Two full crashes both the biggest size.. triple zone... With a rack.. headphones.. throne... Kick pedal...just do that, and make it under a grand... Boom!! Money!!! Take my money!!!!

Sadly, I would strongly recommend NOT purchasing this kit. The module is poor and suffers from noise from the headphone socket, as well freezing during switch on, and missed triggers and craclling noises on the drum pad. It's been rushed.

Almost sold on this. Just one question: could I program Tom 2 to be the ride with a bell sound on the rim? And change the ride to a crash ride tone? Really considering this kit, so wondering if that is feasible?

Dude how much of this is mic's and processing?? Like does that kick sound like that in person?? I cannot for the life of me get that sound out of any drum and I have some badass pricey drums of various makes, sizes, heads, tunings.

I'm surprised the maple birch sounds better in this video. I guess I shouldn't be because I had a mapex walnut maple set and could never get a sound I was happy with. I have played a tama walnut maple set at a store and was blown away by the sound there, I didn't compare it head to head with the maple birch though.

In terms of price-performance ratio this is the best snare on the market.

Also, may I ask one more thing. When it came to the micing for these, was it the same, and did you mix/eq the kits different at all? Just curious if the Maple Res, and the Maple Gum were really that different, mainly the kick with just the same processing on them? Like the Gum really sounded more scooped, and mixed than the Reserve, and I know they are different obv, and the Gum is more modern like that, but just wondering if thats all just the drum, or if it came down to some processing differences to suit the different kits? Also, like the first two kits, the kick sounded very similar, and then the Gum sounded way more punchy, and snappy in the high end, so just trying to figure out what was different, if anything in terms of micing, tuning, mixing etc.

Having to pan stuff in the main mixer just to be able to use direct outputs is not acceptable for a flagship! If there would be a routing pannel or a separate mixer for that so the mix remains same for headphones, it would make more sense. Also, there is no mention of saving kits or global backups to USB or an SD card... and there is no multichannel over USB which is a norm for a flagship as well...

I need a new 20 inch crash that can handle a good ass whipping. Any suggestions 😂

Buy this kit, put some hydraulic heads on it, and throw the snare in the bin. I use it live regularly. It sounds great!

You can do the same thing with far more control by hitting it even at fast tempos if you practice it.

Module is a very nice improvement, almost best in class right now, but IMO still not to the level of a PMP. Single hi hat vs dual makes this one a bit floppy to play.
