Nice. The fastest way to grow your youtube channel is to post as often as you can. You can make a 10 minutes video everyday, where you just walk on a street and speak in Chinese, even saying mostly the same thing is beneficial for learners, because we need to hear the same thing many times for it to stick. So please consider making and posting lots of vlogs, especial when you talk to locals, that way we can learn to talk to locals through your videos. Also don't think you have to go to a tourist location to make interesting videos. A video made in any streets of China is interesting enough for us, especially if you are engaging with people on the streets.

Thank you for your thoughtful suggestions! I agree that repetition is key for language learning, and I’m so glad you find everyday vlogs helpful. While I may not be able to post videos daily, I plan to increase the frequency of my uploads while still ensuring high-quality and meaningful content. Your idea of showcasing local streets is inspiring, and I’ll consider incorporating more of that into future videos.

Please turn on the 'Chinese (Simplified)' subtitles, and you'll see the Pinyin.
This is a very good video. You do a good job. I think it is a good idea to have the chinese at the bottom and the english (or pinyin) at the top. I bought a Chinese book for foreign learners on amazon and it had the hanzi and the pinyin together. in parallel lines. That was not good because my eye/brain naturally gravitates to the english/ pinyin. It is best to keep them separate as you do. Thank you.
@chineseatdawn5744Күн бұрын
Thank you for your feedback on the subtitles!! 🤗 I agree with you about keeping the Chinese and English separate, as it helps with focus.

My favorite language learning content is when I get to watch two different teachers just talk more naturally for 10-20 mins. It doesn't feel like someone is trying to teach me and it feels like I also get to relax and listen in on their conversation (which also helps with language learning). I would really love to see something like that on this channel!
@chineseatdawn5744Күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your suggestion! 😊I love the idea of watching two teachers have a more natural conversation. I’ve watched similar videos from other Chinese educational channels, it's a fantastic approach. I’ll definitely try to find other teachers to do that with me in the future! From your comment, I can tell you're already at a pretty advanced level, which is amazing! Keep up the great work! 🙌

You are right about short videos. They are good for a break from work or study but mostly not very useful except as an intro to someone new you want to follow up on. I do however like those building site disaster shorts lol. Shorts can be good for language beginners and also for new language channel posters working out how to make them. They’re not useful for Chinese past about hsk2 for grammar but conversationally you always need longer form. I used to say the term brain rot in the 90s to describe daytime tv which at that time in my country was dominated by yank soaps and studio manufactured conflict shows like Donahue. To this day I mostly refuse to turn on the tv before 6 or 7 pm but now there’s lots of (un)reality shows and repeats. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve hit a sweet spot matched with your calm style and understandable speech. Look after your eyes. You’re only young so this is a must for you. Five or ten minutes away from all screens including tv for five or ten minutes every half hour. You’re eyes probably aren’t weak as such just very short sighted like my wife’s.
@chineseatdawn5744Күн бұрын
Thanks for the sweet comment! 😊Totally agree - short videos are perfect for beginners or creators finding their groove. And "brain rot" 😂 - so true, it’s like the reality show epidemic today! Appreciate the love for my style, and I'll definitely take those eye breaks seriously. You’re looking out for me! 🙏

Nice speed - BUT - unfortunately a little over my hear as I am a beginner. Looks like your content is for intermediate speakers/learners - I'll check back in a year to see it I can grasp it. Well Done.
