I conceived a couple of days after taking psylocybin in mushroom form. I had very meaningful experiences, most of all probably, a feeling of falling falling falling, letting go of everything, not exactly dying but just letting go to a point where it wouldn't matter to lose my physical body. I'm now 9 weeks pregnant. I feel not exactly depressed but like nothing can make me feel joy or happiness except sometimes thinking deeply about my baby. I feel a deep desire to take mushrooms but feel like probably first trimester is not the time. Looking fwd to rest of this video

Greg, this is all very exciting. What tripped me up and damaged my confidence is the idea that the lack of a scientific safety profile doesn't matter. You just kind of dismissed that whole question. Not good. What say you?

I find that tolerance plateaus. It may take 5 grams to do what 4 did but it eventually tops out to where you consistently get the same effect at the same dose, even daily

💯. This content is so important; thank you for talking about it. Before psychedelics, I was depressed and heavily medicated with no will to live. Afterwards, I still experience depression but now have purpose and utilize other support tools in intentional support. Realistic expectations are important!

Everybody talks about healing and all this stuff. I need no healing. My past is blissful. I just love shrooming! It’s my party drug and I am freaking in heaven every time I do it no matter what as long as it’s above 1 g. I lay on my bed with my eyes closed with the LED lights on, put on some great house music and just enter heaven. I want to do it every day! But I don’t know if it’s safe. Based on this video, I learned there’s a two week reset. I probably won’t be able to wait that long, but I absolutely love all of the lights and images that I see. Absolutely beautiful. Magic mushrooms are the best thing on the planet.

Yall are awesome. Came here to justify taking shrooms at the 30 day mark - wanting to take them “recreationally”, and was so surprised to hear you articulate the things I’ve said about mushrooms in a far more concise manner. Love everything you both said. The first time I tripped (5 years ago) I remembering telling my friend “I cannot abuse these” because it was so wonderful. I’ve yet to have a “bad trip” somehow… the closest I’d say I came to describing a trip as “bad” was the 10gs I took 6 months ago which basically had me catatonic, feeling immense pleasure (while unable or unwilling to move around) and then dealing with a top 5 worst headache of my life. Clearly abuse at that point. I totally agree about this “integration period” which is a new phrase that helps describe what I’ve recommended to others and I LOVE that yall are coming from a place of minimizing dependence on externalities. I’m subscribing forsure and looking forward to more from you both. P.S I’m still thinking about doing the mushrooms in 2 weeks just because I’m not approaching it from a “healing” perspective, but one of enjoying a cheat weekend on my weight loss journey (as well as I love the burst of creativity and ability to sit with a subject for hours without losing interest.) As I say it, it sounds like a rationalization, but to be honest, mushrooms have always blended recreation with introspection from me. I spend a lot of my free time playing around with different approaches to developing myself, almost as a hobby… and I’m certainly getting better at putting those approaches, which start as simple ideas, into practice. Though now that I’m writing this out, I feel there’s more I could do and should work to accomplish without the use of a psychedelic assist, since my awareness of the issue should be enough to facilitate action. Now I’m thinking of using the psychedelics as a “reward” for putting more of my ideas into practice… Clearly I’m thinking about shrooms in a different context than you, and though you’re likely not going to read this book I’ve just written, I would be curious as to what you thought about it. The irony is I’ve actively preached to others about how special mushrooms are and how I don’t like taking them for “pure recreational reasons”, though when I look back on the 9-10 times I’ve done shrooms, it’s hard for me not to see them as that. Since I’m naturally introspective it’s hard for me to delineate between the “trip” and my everyday life. The biggest difference I see is my ability to FOCUS on a single topic I find interesting… a topic that in some way stems from my own perspective (since everything including other people’s perspectives are ultimately filtered through my own)… but a topic that doesn’t necessarily CENTER around self improvement in the way yall are talking about it here. Part of me feels guilty and like I’m betraying the statement I made on my first trip to “never abuse” this wonderful drug, and another can frame recreation as a healthy habit as well, given it’s done in moderation. I mean, a lot of people in the “hippie” psychedelic community preach about how “alcohol has no “medicinal” value, it’s just recreational…” and I understand what they’re saying in a sense, but at the same time, I think recreational activities and the “externalities” that come with them can be incredibly medicinal insofar as they produce positive effects on you as a person that outlast the “ceremony” / recreational activity itself. They can of course be abused just like “real medicine”… you can over-indulge… but they serve a purpose if used correctly, which brings me to why I came to this video… to find out if 30 days is “long enough” to not “abuse” psychedelics… of course instead of confirming what I wanted to be true, I came across a carefully thought out approach to dealing with that type of question… and now I’m basically in the same place I was prior to watching this video.. so thanks for NOTHING! 😂 Nah… seriously, yall are awesome and the irony around “time dilation” which I’m guessing just means “recognizing time is a construct” (no I’m not gonna look it up, just gonna go off of context clues and write this potentially ignorant comment) … THAT made me smile! Can’t say how much I appreciate people like you who take the time to have a nuanced discussion about this incredibly beneficial drug (when used appropriately.) Love and best wishes from a new fan! 🙏

I would like to speak to making a generalization of using SSRIs as an easy way out or the lazy way of just popping a pill instead of working on the problems. Some people absolutely do. There are also people who have worked their very hardest and still find that their experience of their disease torments their entire waking lives. In the field we have a saying, a gentle reminder, "pills don't build skills." Brain chemistry can improved so that one may be in a space to face their trauma, improve their windows of tolerance, learn and apply new tools. Psych meds ABSOLUTELY save lives and assist individuals in being able cope with day to day living. I absolutely prefer earth medicine. I know that psychedelic medicines are highly beneficial for the disease of mental health disorder. Either way can be highly beneficial or not beneficial at all. Mental health is highly personal and there is not one single medication that works for everyone. I don't want individuals to feel less than if pharmaceuticals are necessary to help them thrive. I am loving this episode. It's so important to get alternative paths to the people. Thank you for your work.

We appreciate your insights and openness about the complexities of mental health treatment. You're absolutely right about the stigma attached to SSRIs and other medications. As you rightly pointed out, these medications can be game-changers for many folks. We love your reminder that "pills don't build skills." It's very true. While medication can be a lifeline, it's often just one piece of the puzzle. Therapy, coping strategies, and addressing the root causes of mental health struggles are equally important. At the end of the day, there's no one-size-fits-all solution for mental health. It's such a personal journey, and what works for one person might not work for another. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your support.

Can you do a podcast episode about shrooms and eating disorders, preferably Anorex.? I just got back from having 2 journeys and my body dysmorphia is completely gone, like COMPLETELY. (It’s been a week now) I’m not sure if it’s just during this glow period and when it may reveal itself again, but I’m just so grateful on how much better I feel inside and out. I’m integrating each and every day the best I can, but it feels like I just touched a layer within me. It feels like I have so many more layers to explore and connect with. My ED thoughts are definitely not 24/7 and it doesn’t feel as consuming and compulsive as it did before. I have a long road of integration ahead of me, but I definitely know in my heart I’ll be called to this medicine again. My chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic brain fog (that has made me debilitated since 2019) is just gone, for the most part!! Like it’s crazy how healing this medicine is, spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally!! My first journey was physically so so painful, because I was purging and reliving so much of my trauma I’ve numbed out with my ED, but by the 2nd journey I was able to move through the trauma easier and actually experience insight and epiphanies. I just wanted to share my story so far, and how healing it truly was for me. I’m also curious if you’ve had any ED clients and what they’ve gotten out from their journeys?! I love all of your episodes and am excited to hear more!💖

You totally have the potential to maintain this! The importance of lots of good integration cannot be understated though. Without that, things usually wear off. Thank you for sharing your profound experience with us. We're grateful to hear how much relief and transformation you've found through your journeys with psychedelics, particularly in relation to your body dysmorphia and chronic health challenges. We'll certainly add the topic of shrooms and eating disorders, specifically Anorexia, to our podcast queue. It's important to acknowledge that the healing journey is multifaceted and complex, encompassing mental, emotional, neurocognitive, and physical aspects. Your experience underscores the potential for psychedelics to catalyze profound shifts in perception and well-being. While it's encouraging to hear about the positive changes you've experienced, it's essential to recognize that these transformations may vary in duration and intensity. From our professional experience, we've observed clients who have experienced both temporary relief and longer-lasting benefits from psychedelic experiences. The key lies in ongoing exploration, integration, and intentional reprogramming of old narratives, patterns, and behaviors. It's common for our systems to revert to familiar patterns, especially during times of stress or challenge. Therefore, it's crucial to continue the integration process deliberately, replacing outdated beliefs and behaviors with ones that align with your current goals and well-being. Thank you again for sharing your journey with us. We're committed to supporting you and others in navigating the complexities of psychedelic experiences and integration.

While we can't provide a definitive answer on the exact time you should wait between doses, it's crucial to approach these experiences with intentionality and a clear purpose, especially when considering higher doses like 5-7 grams. We advocate for the therapeutic use of psychedelics, which emphasizes careful planning and respect for the substances. I've been doing 3.5-7g every Saturday for over a year and that's the perfect amount and frequency for me. I took a month tolerance break after the first year and did not even trip harder after a month than waiting a week. Since then I went back to once a week. Everyone is different though. The longest I will take a break now is 2 weeks.

@thomasfox7468
@thomasfox7468 2 ай бұрын
@@taylormcdonald7351 In my early experiences with psychedelics, particularly with the potent Penis Envy strain, I typically stayed within the 1.75-2.5g range for about my first 20+ trips. These initial experiences were manageable, but over time, I began to explore higher doses in the 3.5-4.5g range. My shift to higher doses came after a couple of ego death experiences, which taught me that these experiences, while intense, were not life-threatening. As I researched more about the science behind psychedelics, I became convinced of their safety. This understanding alleviated my anxiety, allowing me to take higher doses without fear. The primary reason I prefer stronger trips is the substantial mental benefits I receive. At lower doses, I feel good and anxiety-free, experiencing a temporary uplift in mood. However, these doses don’t address deeper, underlying issues. In contrast, higher doses provide profound insights and thoughts that help me identify the root causes of my problems. During these trips, I can piece together plans and thoughts in ways that lead to realizations about necessary changes in my life. Low doses offer a pleasant, happy experience, but they don't allow my mind to free flow enough to reach the core of my concerns or find meaningful solutions. Higher doses, on the other hand, transform the trip from merely enjoyable to a life-changing therapeutic or spiritual awakening. These experiences provide answers and insights that seem to come from a different dimension, which I can't access at lower doses. I choose to trip every Saturday because Sunday is my only day off, and I find that I can trip just as intensely weekly as I do when I wait 2+ weeks. My body appears to metabolize the substance quickly, enabling me to maintain the intensity of my trips with more frequent use. However, I acknowledge that this varies from person to person, as everyone's body is different.
