This recipe is the modern take on the original. The recipe that was in Martha Washington's possession was a fortified fermented, carbonated wine. " Extract the juice of 20 pounds well ripend Morrella cherrys. Add to this 10 quarts of old french brandy and sweeten it with White sugar to your taste. To 5 gallons of this mixture add one ounce of spice such as cinnamon, cloves and nutmegs of each an Equal quantity slightly bruis’d and a pint and half of cherry kirnels that have been gently broken in a mortar. After the liquor has fermented let it stand close-stoped for a month or six weeks then bottle it, remembering to put a lump of Loaf Sugar into each bottle".

If they weigh the same oxen are stronger in mud or deep snow, horses are stronger on hard ground like a paved road. Hoof shape is the real difference.

Oxen are stronger than a horse of the same weight. They can also work longer than a team of horses. Horses are faster and come in ginger sized so can, at times, pull more. Oxen are better in poor footing or wet, muddy conditions. Horses get bogged down in deep mud and can't put nearly as much

This shows how desperate families are to get their children in camp and still be able to function in their professional lives. The web surge occurs for many camp programs when registration opens. In the parent community, we know that child care registration books within an hour. Please can there be more childcare employees and camp slots. That is the core issue. Our community needs more childcare resources.

More likely than a DDOS attack is that the sudden surge of people registering was perceived as an attack by automations. That or they’re saying the surge had the impact of an attack and their system just fell over.

Hello, in 2024 and perhaps 2025 we'll be using the Conner House where Hearthside is held for daily activities, so it won't be able to be setup for Hearthside. Our primary building will be closed for renovations and thus we are opening our grounds during the winter (typical Hearthside time) and need the Conner House for daily hour content. We hope to find a way to bring Hearthside back sooner and will keep everyone posted!

We used to take class trips to Conner Prairie farm when in grade school. Thank you all for introducing me to History. Learning History has been a Life long endeavor for me. It has helped me understand politics, led me to my Home in the Rocky mtn West, led me to act in movies and helped me in 4H activities with my Beloved Children. And to the lifestyle we now live. So to all of you involved in Conner Prairie. From Management to Living History interpreters, A Heart Felt Thank You! Best Wishes from Montana! M.H.

Well, I’m not sure where to direct this comment since the city of Carmel doesn’t allow comments. But I have to say, I’m not a fan of these modern, contemporary designs of the Conner prairie buildings that have been submitted. This seems like a complete anti-thesis to the idea of the museum. It’s goal is to preserve history, is it not? If you actually cared about future generations, any new buildings should be built using *classical* architectural styles. Are we building a Penn/Grand Central Station or some modern throw away franchise/corporate building? Build the former and future generations will thank you. I speak as someone who learned my ancestors destroyed the originally Grand central and wept upon finding out what we lost.
