I was at the forest of arden years and years ago and Darren was on practice green chipping, one handed on his phone, he'd put his cigar down near us, as we'd walked in to tournament that morning we'd been given a complimentary news paper in a bag, now I thought Darren was the dogs bollocks and bound to win the open that year, so as he walked off practice green and left cigar there, I thought it would be a good idea to pick up cigar, try get a ball signed and put it in a display box, so I picked it up put it in plastic bag, however halfway down the 1st hole the news paper caught fire in bag, Darren is a legend in my eyes so glad he eventually won his open

Old Tom Morris was the first superstar of golf and probably the greatest when you consider what he had to put up with. The personal tragedies and the golfing life of the time - hardly, financially, secure. But he was true to himself and the sport he loved. The stars of today owe a lot to this man and it's important we don't forget him.

You can take it back how ever you want, what the hands and wrist do in the down swing is all that matters. Fred couples is a perfect example, he’s cupped slightly. DJ is the opposite and stays very closed with his lead wrist. It’s all what feels best. Any swing can still be good if the downswing mechanics are correct. Just bc you are cupped or not does not mean your swing won’t work.

Most important part of the swing? For me the takeaway is really important. Many of the problems with my swing tend to originate from a bad takeaway. But I have to agree with Darren about the transition between backswing and downswing. It's so important to have a nice smooth transition and to get the club on the right plane.
