Any chance you could do this with the small harbor freight security light ?

I purchased the bright light with motion activated sensor. The motion sensor did not work, because the on and off light switch was not working properly.

Any chance of seeing a video of the rear seats in place with the second row all fully forwards. Thanks form UK!

Would love to see a final shot of the finished product, seat removed. But otherwise super helpful thank you. From my research it looks like the middle seat stands alone instead of a 2/3 from 2016 and up.

the wire is a seat occupancy sensor and seatbelt engaged sensor

Just for future reference, your "star key" is called a torx bit. A 12 point is a triple square.

Ummmmmm what? Does this fix the fact that the motion sensor doesn’t turn the light off? Is there a way to deaden or make the motion sensor less sensitive. Tbh I don’t know what you did. Thanks!

As far as I can tell, the motion sensor only turns the light on. Adjusting motion sensitivity is not a standard option on this light. It is possible, but to do it you'd have to be pretty smart. I can't even follow along on this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnbClGaVarpnn80. All my fix does, it make the light stay on continuously.

Should have used a voltmeter to probe the voltages on the boards and wires... Or an Oscilloscope if you want to "see the voltages", including AC

I bought one of these and was also annoyed the motion sensor couldn't be easily disabled. I like what you did in your video, but I decided to dig a little deeper. I found the data sheet for the BISS0001 motion sensor chip on the circuit board. It seemed that pin 2 (starting in the bottom left and going counter clockwise) is the output line that runs to the relay. I verified this with my multimeter and tested turning the light on/off manually by jumping it to pin 11, which has a constant 5v that powers the chip. I soldered down a small wire between pins 2 and 11 and am now in business!

I took a piece of scrap wire and just touched the pins in random order and assumed it wouldn't work. I must have not made a solid circuit. I'm glad it's possible to do it the right way! haha.

Thank you for the video which brought this comment, however the board I have has a 8 pin device for the motion chip and the markings have been sanded off, sigh

The chip that was blown out is a transistor that is labelled Q1. The blue wire is 5v that causes the ground (black wire) to connect across the transistor. If you just solder a short jumper from the ground to the transistor pin closest to the edge of the board (opposite from the side with two pins and the Q1 label) you will bypass the transistor and the light will stay on. See video at 1:48 to get a close-up. This method is pretty easy to solder and can be undone easily. This light doesn't have very good heat dissipation, so I am a little worried about leaving it on too long or it might melt. So be careful with how long you leave it on.
