I keep coming back to this, it's extraordinary how good a player this man is.

Still my favourite Mastodon album, simply because it's enwrapped with way more intense themes than anything they ever done. It's concept of a specific story being unfolded is very ambitious, I like how they use everything they could from Joseph Campbell to Indian mythology The music in this is just Mastodon's insanity meeting with prog. It also represents Mastodon's great methamorphosis which evolved them into what Mastodon now is And also, This Mortal Soil is the best thing they ever composed!

I just saw Ween in Missoula and I've been seriously nostalgia tripping. This was my absolute Dream Ween show. My band was just finishing up our own tour and Seattle was the last stop before home. We were WRECKED and dirty and exhausted but we ran into some friends and us girls in the band said there was no way we weren't staying for this. We somehow got to sit right on the stage: it was fu*king MAGIC 🤎Our bandmates were PISSED and they weren't very big Ween fans so they took off in our van and ended up breaking down on the way back to Missoula. Too bad we didn't have cell phones back in the day, I mean I *guess* we felt kinda bad when we got home? Nah.....😅

I was at this show. I ate half a sheet of acid cuz I thought it was fake but it wasn't and I sat on stage and watched the show front and center starting off my trip for 3 days. I would hand the bass player one of my bass picks from my picket and he played the whole show with it. I also interacted with Deaner a lot. Gener helped me push a car out odf a snow drift in front of the venue. It was an excellent way to kick off me 3 day trip! I'd do it again!
