Great adventure to a fabulous part of Cornwall, on one of the best train lines in the country. What's not to like.🧑

In the future when the time 🕰️ comes is that if I’m travelling 🧳 🧭 on the trains 🚂 🚆 🚊 in Devon and Cornwall is let’s perhaps 🤔 say in the year 2030 if I’m alive, I’ll have to travel 🧳 🧭 without a railcard and pay 💰 the normal price that I’m a limited train 🚂 🚆 🚊 traveller 🧳 in per year so don’t bother to attempt to have a railcard anymore. In fact. I’ll be in the north Devon area in the southwest of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 is almost 😅 24 hours a day without worrying about being a regular train 🚆 🚊 🚂 traveller 🧳 regularly. I honestly think 💭 🤔 that I should put myself off for doing my train 🚊 🚆 🚂 travelling 🧳 🧭 in the future when the time 🕰️ comes and leave train 🚊 🚆 🚂 travelling 🧳 🧭 alone. I honestly would hate my own guts if I return back to train 🚂 🚊 🚆 travelling 🧳 🧭 again that I’ll use the buses 🚌 🚍 🚎 instead and make sure 👌 👍 ✔️ that I stay lucky 🍀 😅. Walk 🚶‍♂️ 🚶‍♀️ 🚶 away from the trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 , treat them invisible 🫥, falsely pretend they are not there and concentrate on using the buses 🚍 🚌 🚎 only within the north Devon area only. If I perhaps 🤔 dare to use the trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 again, I’ll jump off from the bridge 🌁 🌉 that I want to put myself in hospital 🏥 and perhaps 🤔 it could serve me right. So I must say “No to train 🚂 🚆 🚊 travelling” 🧭 🧳 and only use the buses 🚎 🚍 🚌 is because I honestly have an English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 National bus 🚎 🚌 🚍 pass. I honestly feel like ❤️ 👍 that I should go to another planet 🪐 🗺️ 🌏 🌍 🌎 is Saturn 🪐 perhaps 🤔. I am now clear with myself that train 🚊 🚆 🚂 travelling 🧳 🧭 should be a thing of my past and not come back to it anymore. Keep a straight face 😐 😑 and perhaps 🤔 try not to cry 😢 😭 😿. The question 🙋‍♂️ 🙋‍♀️ 🙋 is that should I have to put my middle finger 🖕 to train 🚊 🚆 🚂 travelling? 🧳 🧭 If I travel 🧳 🧭 on the trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 again, I perhaps 🤔 should write ✍️ 🖋️ ✒️ in lines ➡️ ➡️ ➡️ ➡️ I must not travel 🧳 🧭 on the trains. 🚆 🚂 🚊 I must not travel 🧳 🧭 on the trains. 🚂 🚊 🚆 I must not travel 🧳 🧭 on the trains. 🚂 🚊 🚆 I must not travel 🧳 🧭 on the trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 As this could be around perhaps 🤔 100 💯 lines and is to punish myself for it that it honestly feels expensive to pay 💰 a lot of money 💰 💴 💵 with my debit card 💳. Likewise is that if train 🚂 🚆 🚊 travelling 🧳 🧭 is to happen is that I’ll be in the county of Devon and Cornwall only is very limited amount of times ✖️ a year. I’ll beat myself up 🆙 ⬆️ 🔝 if it happens too much by travelling 🧳 🧭 on the trains 🚊🚆 🚂 too much a year. Please 🙏 keep it up 👍 by staying in the north Devon area is 24 hours a day and don’t damage my reputation. 👍 😄 😀

Why have you got a photo of a First bus. You need to catch an AVMT Bus to get to Seaton from Axminster Station
@greatscenicrailways
@greatscenicrailways 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for highlighting this. The bus operator discrepancy is because the video was filmed back in 2019.
@tomkirby7991
@tomkirby7991 5 ай бұрын
@@greatscenicrailways AVMT have ran the service from Axminster to Seaton since the 1980s, so the fact that this video was filmed in 2019 makes no difference. Why wasn't the correct operator filmed? I'm genuinely curious, it seems unfair for another (unrelated) operator to take the credit instead of the the correct one. If this footage is genuine, then an AVMT bus would of been travelled on. Or is it that the people in the video didn't actually catch a bus to Seaton as portrayed?

It’s a lovely ☺️ train 🚊 journey that runs from Exeter to Barnstaple via Crediton and Eggesford. This is Ilfracombe. The train 🚆 used to run from Barnstaple to Ilfracombe via Braunton until Saturday 3rd 🥉 October 1970 is over 50 previous years ago in 2023. 👍

Yes the line closed a few years before I was born and the first time I walked along the Tarka Trail was in 1982! Before tarmac was laid on the old track and before then I remember treading on the stones which I found rather uncomfortable 🤣🤣

And if you get the train to Dorchester South Station the bus leaves 3 minutes before the train arrives and then you have a 2 hour wait. A Dorset town.

Bridport and West Bay are actually in West Dorset, i should know i grew up there! Lyme Regis is also at the end of West Dorset, beyond Lyme Regis is Devon! To be fair you did put Bridport Dorset at the beginning of the film but not in the main you tube title.

Don't waste your time with our useless bus routes. Shame they took our railway lines way that actually had a regular service. Of course nothing matters down here as we're no where near London. If you don't have a car stay in London.

I can't understand eating a cream tea the wrong way round... but really glad you are showing how possible it is to have a good holiday travelling by public transport in north devon. Real eco tourism starts by cutting transport emissions. And what could be lower emissions than a train to Barnstaple!

Flanders and Swann wrote a song about this line... Here are some of the lyrics : On the Main Line and the goods′ siding The grass grows high At Dog Dyke, Tumby Woodside And Trouble House Halt. The sleepers sleep at Audlem and Ambergate. No passenger waits on Chittening platform or Cheslyn Hay No one departs, no one arrives From Selby to Goole, from St Erth to St Ives They′ve all passed out of our lives On the Slow Train, on the Slow Train.
