I still don't understand those who spend more for the cask strength versions and then have to add water to enjoy the dram. I made this mistake once and I will never repeat it, it was a Jack Daniel Single Barrel Barrel Proof, flavors and aromas killed by 64° vol, stuff for alcoholics

@@eymerichinquisitore9022 for me I like high abv whisky. I have more control over the strength on how I want to drink it. Couple of drops water opens it up nicely. But it is a personal preference. Boy… Christmas whisky list! Hmm. Let’s see…. If it’s a wish list I’ll start off with Glengoyne 25. Can’t get that anymore $$$. Next Ancnoc 24. Had it on the cart and it sold out. It was pricey but now it’s unavailable. Speaking of: Arran 18 is another one. Tamdhu 18 is one Im curious about but it’s also pretty expensive. Glengarioch 17 I’m curious about but not many talk about that one. I think it would be interesting. There’s so many. Longmorn 18 , Tobermory 21. Oh I recently saw a Scapa 14 available but it’s like $200 because it’s discontinued. I did rather enjoy the 16. Also an old bottling of Talisker 18 at a whopping $200. Anyhow I could go on. Whisky is such a joy. I’m already basically out of room with over 100 bottles. Good luck with your list Gert!

Given my field of work my advice for 2025 is moderation! Sadly alcohol use disorder diagnoses are up - enormously. I do worry. Just watched a KZbin individual this am who repeatedly makes drunken sloppy videos. Concerning and frankly appalling. Irresponsible. Gen Z people are doing it right and drinking much less! We all should. Everyone should avoid FOMO! Not meaning to be a buzz kill! Occupation hazard! ⚠️

Boy you start early. In the US hints and shopping lists traditionally aren't until third week of November. Thanksgiving is the third Thursday, the family is all together, and then that's "Black Friday" after to do the buying since Christmas is 4 weeks away. I've got a month before thinking about this subject. In the same price range as a bunch of those - I wouldn't mind seeing an anCnoc 24 show up. Would never turn down the Bunna - a 25 or maybe more realistically the 21. I'd prefer a Ballechin 18 to the Edradour. But much less expensive for a gift, I'd like the Edradour Caledonian.
