Hi Leanne, I saw a couple of units with small Franklin stove/heaters at the show. Coops and Cabins offers one (200 Sq feet) with a loft, full bathroom, small kitchen (no tub), priced around $110,000. I also noticed that most Yurts tend to have stoves for heating, although one I toured didn’t seem to include one. Overall, yurts are likely the most affordable solution and are designed for 4-season use, making them suitable for colder climates. Their design originates from Mongolia, where temperatures can get extremely cold, so they’re built to handle it! good luck in your search and let me know if you find anything that is reasonably priced with the features that you want. cheers Dwayne kzbin.info71KCN-wSgKk?si=w5r8Q06f8RNGn1rq

Paying 260k for a tiny home is ridiculous. You can get regular nice new homes for that price. They need to make these affordable.

Hey, I totally agree with you, even though the tiny houses are supposed to be cheaper they are approximately the same price “per square foot” as a normal house because they still require all the expensive stuff like kitchen and bathrooms, HVAC and they have to be fully insured and warrantied . It’s just that they’re smaller so there’s less square feet, and they take up less land. They of course can also be put on an existing piece of land and that’s where they really shine.. There are other less expensive options than CSA approved back warranty homes, you can look at off grid. Yurts are quite inexpensive and there’s a lot of different cabins as well. That can work quite nicely into tiny homes. Check out my latest video here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4rEhYmhlq-kl6Msi=iCr_jNg6gXj8cAow

yeah they can be expensive "per square foot" if they have all the house amenities. Because you still have a functional bathroom and kitchen which cost big, HVAC and 4 season CSA approved with Tarion warranty, you are basically compressing the expensive parts of a house into the price. How they are cheaper than a normal sized house is that they simply have less square feet of house so it costs less to build. There are cheaper options, check out my other video kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4rEhYmhlq-kl6Msi=Pfr_OFho4KuaKg32 some cheaper solutions there. Cheers Dwayne

They astronomical prices for the tiny homes have destroyed the purpose!
@BudgetTinyHomes
@BudgetTinyHomes Ай бұрын
Hi Maria, yes some of the tiny homes can be quite expensive per square foot, but because they’re smaller than regular homes, the price won’t be nearly as much as a full-size house. However, in my next video, which I should have out in a few days, most of the homes are under $50,000 and can be completely off grid! please make sure you’re subscribed And I’d be honoured if you’d have a look at that one, thanks, Dwayne.

How common are tiny house communities in Canada (Ontario, in particular). The cost of housing is ridiculously high otherwise.

There are a some tiny homes communities in Ontario. Here is one with government backing ywcaste.ca/project-tiny-hope/ Of course all trailer-park communities would also most likely accept tiny homes. Subscribe if you haven't already to watch for more content (part II Ancaster tiny home show) that show has interviews from a few service providers that will find you a plot of land to put Tiny home(s) on. Cheers Dwayne

12/4/2024 This is an example of how to house 8 billion people and 8 billion pets!!! These could be installed on the floor of every high rise building all over the world. They could be (emptied first) then brought up and down on the super strong car elevators. Glass houses could be nearby for using the book 'The Vertical Farm' by Dr. Despommier (not a typo!!!). Extremely pretty green shower tile at about 12 minutes. It is so pretty that the entire 'box' should be covered that way: all walls, ceiling, floor. This could make the entire tiny house water proof, as much as possible. There are many pretty shower walls and every tiny home builder should consider doing this! It could be great for pet care. You could place those mats on top (to make it less slippery) that all the big box stores have at the front entrance, especially when it is raining outside. I am really in love with that green shower tile, what a great color!!!
