I thought of buying this amp, but this is a dealbreaker. With this workaround you can not use BT at the same time. But I eant to use my hires headphones. :/ Very unfortuned, it's a great amp. But for this price I don't want to use workarounds and still can not do everything I want to do with it.

Looks like there’s a huge eq difference between the guitar and audio (fed by the line out to aux in ) channels. The guitar channel sounds like it has more mids and like a proper amp, the aux in sounds trebley, harsh and scooped. Any ideas on how to fix this ?

I just tried this and it resulted in a really loud beeping or wailing noise. Anyone else have this issue? When I don't use the auxiliary input it seems to work fine

Go into the app on your smartphone and make sure the guitar output is all the way down to 0. It’s not sufficient to do it with the physical knob; you need to do it in the app.

Had a go at this, I get a way more noise coming from my RC3 if I connect this into the aux. I prefer to just use the amp in clean mode when looping and use existing pedals on the pedal board for effects (with the looper at the end of the pedal board).

Thank you for the video! I'm completely new to modeling amps, effect-pedals and all the cable stuff. Does somebody know if I need mono or stereo plugs?
@KevinIlsen
@KevinIlsen 9 ай бұрын
The Aux jack on the THR30ii would need a stereo plug. So if there are separate L and R outputs from your looper pedal, each of them would be mono, so you'd need a Y adapter to join them together.

Hi Kevin - a quick question - are the cables you are using with the R3 stereo? Great video.
@KevinIlsen
@KevinIlsen Жыл бұрын
In the video, I used a TS (mono) 1/4” cable from one output channel of the THR into one input of the RC3, and then a TRS (stereo) 1/4” cable from one RC3 output, into a mini TRS (stereo) cable that I plugged into the aux input jack of the THR. So, yes and no. But this didn’t give me true stereo. To do that you’d need two individual mono 1/4” cables going from the L and R line outputs of the THR into the L and R inputs of the RC3, then a 1/4” “Y” cable with two TS (mono) plugs on one end and a single TRS (stereo) connector on the other, to join the L and R outputs of the RC3 into a single TRS (stereo) connector, followed by a 1/4” TRS to 1/8”TRS adapter to connect to the aux input of the THR.

@KevinIlsen

@@thecaninebehaviourist really depends on how valuable you find the stereo effect in the THR. In my opinion, it's not worth the extra effort of hooking up the stereo cables. But you might feel otherwise.

Been using this hack for a couple of years and all been good. Just updated the firmware and all of a sudden I’m getting high pitched interference when I play through the looper. Has the firmware update broken this?
@KevinIlsen
@KevinIlsen Жыл бұрын
Maybe the update reset the volume settings. Go into the app and make sure the guitar output is at 0. Not enough to do it via the physical knob, you need to do it in the app.
@MrRollDotHome
@MrRollDotHome Жыл бұрын
@@KevinIlsen yes you’re right. The update via my Mac was a touch and go affair. Very flakey and at first I was worried it’d bricked the amp. When it came back to life I restored from back up but it didn’t restore the amp settings. Now I can’t remember how the speaker tuning and audio streaming eq were set.

Do you have static / line noise in the loop when you do this? It works great other than that for me.
@KevinIlsen
@KevinIlsen Жыл бұрын
Make sure to go into the THR app and set the guitar output volume to 0. If you don't do this you'll get a lot of noise. It's not enough to adjust the physical knobs on the THR; you need to do it in the app.
