Mistreatment and the lack of revival in the release of beautiful breeder fish such as was shown, for the sake of the camera in this video, is a major contributor of the current decline of the Striped Bass population. Show more respect toward this valuable species for future generations. Dumb ass !

Nice job supporting the fish for release. No dragging on rocks or hoisting by the jaw, right back in. Nice fish.

Yep, Cape Cod Canal is where I caught my biggest fish, a Stripe'r. Looks like the same spot, or close. The Bridge. I'll never forget that day back in the 60s. Striped Bass are like pulling in a log, not to mention the heavy current in the Canal! Great video Striper Sniper. Brought back good memories of my younger days.

You notice how this classy fisherman doesn't grab his fish and stumbles his way to his camera? ..He knows that was a big fish and he doesn't have to prove it to anyone!!...instead of taking selfies or measuring his catch, he gets it right back into the water!!.. job well done my friend!!!👍

I don't bother to measure or take pictures of my fish. I know its big. No time wasted when I have my limit filled. I'm off to sell my catch. P.s I'm a commercial fisherman. 😀

What kind of jigs or lures are you using? I'm new to striped bass fishing and not very knowledgeable on how to catch them.

Ugh yeah I woulda been scramblin to at least get a line in that water. Thats the stuff you wait all yr for! We had a blitz like that at drift fishing off block island. Out of 4 of us we cuaght 1 20lber all day, 8 hrs lines in the water, literally reeling in gettin ready to leave, then the fish came on like that out of nowhere. 2 50 pounders, 1 in the low 40s, n another mid thirties. All in 20-30 mins tops. Stuff like that rarely happens but wen it does, man whata blast.

Nice catch man, nice release too. I use a smaller rod 7'6" but I'm looking for something to cast further out, if you don't mind can you tell me what size rod and what kind of line you're using? That cast is about the distance I'm looking for, I just don't want to spend the money until I have more info. Thanks for any information.

most people use 10 to 11 but i think a 9ft rod would make a huge improvement.

I use 11’ Lamiglas Road 10’ ft works Below that you won’t reach many fish in the middle of canal

Hey Their,Im coming to Cape Cod in June from Padre Island TX. I fish a ton down here for Red Fish , Trout , Flounder. I have a 18 foot Flats boat and also Guide Bay Fishing down here. Im looking for a trip trade or just someone that knows what they are doing in Cape Cod area. If someone was willing to take me out fishing up there. I would do the same and take that person Bay Fishing in North Padre Island. All they would have to do is get here and we would go chase Red Fish, Trout and Flounder.

The only spots you can fish with a boat on the canal are outside the entrances. I'm not sure if that's because it's a throughway or not but I know for certain not many boats can handle the current in the canal, I would definitely advise not fishing with a boat there. On land though, the east side where this guy is fishing is great. As far as some major hot spots, not many people around here will tell you, most shore anglers hate burning spots to others.
@RWAnglin7 жыл бұрын
Michael G. Yes you cannot sit idle in the canal, even if it were possible the current is too strong to anchor in. The entrances are the best place to catch big fish though.
