I’m visiting my family this Saturday in Canada . I live and born in Georgia I have not seen my real dad for 29 years sence he left me . I’m a self taught artist . Not sure you use Fredrix and Blick art material canvas pads that’s unstreched canvas, I’m carrying 2 canvas pads that’s thats paintings for family , how do you pack It safely if one of them them is not fully dry that’s still acrylics . It’s been 4 days and if you you bring back some art too ? 14:40

Kelly, these pieces really turned out amazing!! I usually do fabric instead of the papers with rust, but now I want to try the deli papers like you! Does it matter which side you put the waxy deli paper surface on?
@colorcrushcreative
@colorcrushcreative Ай бұрын
The deli paper used is not that waxy- do not use Wax Paper!!- but just paper here. The wax will not allow the rust to flow through properly. Thick tissue paper works as well!! Have fun!

I got them Catalyst Princetons, but im saving them to use for more realism paintings. I pd 40 bucks for a 3 pack. ( well 50% off that price.) Where are you getting them? With that cup full, it seems like they're not too pricey for you.

Great interview. Because nine to five is standard, or used to be, doesn’t mean everyone is cut out for that. I’m just like Brooke was, nine to five did not sit well with me at all, and for many of the reasons that Brooke has mentioned. I also find it hard to make things for the sake of just making them. I sat on the idea of opening an online business for two years. The wait was mostly fear based. Then one day I just said go for it, even if you sell one thing a month, what the heck do you have to loose. I will never forget the day I got that first sale. I got up and did a little happy dance. And from that day on I can say it’s probably the happiest I have been in years. I have run into some health problems that, at times, make things a little difficult. But I just manage to keep pushing through. The cookie cutter life that is nine to five is not for everyone, and why should it be. Not everyone is made alike, I don’t like routine, I don’t like to be told what to do. Some people strive in that type of atmosphere and that is okay, but on the flip side there are many who don’t. And I don’t feel people should be made to feel guilty because of this. Different strokes for different folks. We are the happiest when we are doing what we love. And lucky for us that, that is possible in this day and age.

For so many of us the 9-5 can be so difficult. I love that you took the leap to try out your online business, it's certainly a roller coaster but it all feels so worth it at the end of the day! Cheering you on in your business and in your art! 😊🎨🥳

All pastels, oil pastels or soft pastels, need to be framed under glass. Yes, oil pastels are affected by heat, but I think soft pastels are affected by direct sun. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm a beginner, so I'm interested in the differences.

Hi Kelly… I can’t find the lush landscapes video, which is the video I have a question about, but I figure you’ll be able to answer the question regardless of where I post it because I bet you use this often. And the lush landscapes video, you use a sheet of brown, like craft brown paper, the painting. Can you please tell me what this paper is and if it’s already cut that size or if you had to cut it to that size? Just curious if you can buy this somewhere already cut and those size sheets? Also, is the weight like card stock or illustrator board? Thank you so much for your help. Really appreciate that!

Thankyou so much for this! I haven’t tried oil pastels however I’m excited to give it a go. I mainly work with acrylics on canvas. Is it possible to integrate both together? I will try it first in my sketchbook.
@colorcrushcreative

When using oil pastels, it's the same basic rule as using acrylic & oil paint together. As long as the acrylic paint is underneath the oil pastels or in an area alongside the oil pastels, it's fine. You shouldn't paint with acrylics over oils because the paint will crack as it dries.

hahah, I too used to be a domesticated cat, baking, sewing, canning, gardening, coaching kids, potlucks, church, lawn mowing, painting, scrapbooking, embroidery, you name it I did it. Now, I am feral, I am a traveling nomad for work, living out of a suitcase trying to create art using minimal supplies and space. I love this idea of creating small study grid art pieces when I am on the go, then when time and space allows make big pieces. Thank you for this.
