Great video. Was it easy to get to the Norway National Monument from the port? I was thinking about taking a bus. Would you know if that's an option?
@mcmagicmoments7 ай бұрын
Hey! Thanks for your kind worlds. We walked and was really nice to see the small parks, church and residential area on the way. I believe the hop on hop off bus stops there and so does the little train tour. Not sure about other transport links. Doesn’t take that long to walk, we just used Apple Maps on our phone.

Possibly the most stunning cruise port in the world!

You got a very good deal. We paid $1,100 each (the room is a regular state room) for a 11 day cruise (Netherlands, France, Spain, England, Belgium, and Germany) on April 16-27.

We normally book the annual leave and take a risk by waiting as late as possible to book checking the price regularly. We also get an NHS discount as well

I just booked a cruise with MSC Euribia (to the norwegian fjords) after watching your videos :) I have also planned another trip during Christmas with MSC's new itinerary to the Canary islands + Madeira (due to early bird deals for new itinerary)

Glad we’ve been able to inspire you guys. You will love it. We do have Norway cruise vlogs as well. We went on the MSC virtuosa in September 2023. It was amazing. Where did you book your canary cruise? We are planning our next cruise at the moment and would love to go to the Canaries.

@@mcmagicmoments I watched your Norway videos as well and I love them! I booked my MSC cruises through their USA website, because prices are often cheaper/with better deals compared to the exact same route sold on their Europe websites! (note that gratuities of €12/person/night are not shown and only charged later on ship, for bookings from USA). With the official website, I can also apply my membership status to get 5% discount (+ 5% if booked at least 6 months in advance)

Hi. Loving these vlogs, really useful as I'm doing a 2 night Southampton to Hamburg on Euribia next month. Couple of questions if I may. As I'll be leaving the ship in Hamburg I'll obviously need my passport stamping into the EU, did you see any signs for a separate queue for disembarking passengers in Hamburg? Also, I'd like to do the Chocolate museum on my way to the airport. I don't need to leave Hamburg city centre for the airport until around 230pm, I see there is an English tour available at 1215, would you say I'll have long enough? It says 90 mins, was the tour 90 mins? Also. I'll have my luggage did you happen to notice if the museum had any luggage facilities? Thanks and looking forward to the next in the series 😊
@mcmagicmoments8 ай бұрын
Hi, yes if you follow the signs they will take you to the section where people who are leaving the ship at Hamburg. Yeah it took pretty much exactly 90 mins to do. It was great value and highly recommend. There is lockers there you just need 1 euro coins. They wouldn’t fit larger cases so you may need to call and ask about them.

Great vlog ,filming and information, good reviews too 👍 MSC can be different to other cruises they are reasonably priced but not the best unfortunately.
@mcmagicmoments8 ай бұрын
Honestly I feel it was just the type of cruise it was with it being on a constant loop picking up people at different ports. We had a great time and are booking another soon again with MSC but think the way the Northern Europe cruise is run needs to be looked at. :) thanks for the positive feedback :)

Was there any COVID precautions?
@mcmagicmoments8 ай бұрын
No, didn’t have to show any vaccination proof like you had to before and no testing before getting on. It’s all gone back to how it was before Covid.

I really enjoyed this series. I'll be on the same ship, same route, one week earlier in 2024. Bit nervous about the crowds, but it didn't look too bad in your footage, so long as you're smart about what times you go to the buffet! Did you find you had to wait a long time for bar service?
@mcmagicmoments9 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your wonderful comments. We are glad you enjoyed it. Buffet area was fine but my advice would be to get an early dining reservation if you can as we had the late one and missed either the evening parties or shows. Bar service didn’t take long at all. My advice would be to use the bars in the solarium. It was 1 drink per card on that trip but we have just come back from another MSC cruise and you could order 2 drinks per card so worth asking.
@Radishhead8 ай бұрын
Do @@mcmagicmoments Do you remember what time the bars opened? And if I wanted to order a drink at the buffet, is there an option there? Thanks!
@mcmagicmoments8 ай бұрын
@Radishhead Hey, I can’t remember exactly what time they open but I think it was either 7am or 8am. The buffet area does do wines, beers, coffees like lattes and soft drinks. They didn’t serve cocktails but there is a bar on the open deck just outside the buffet that served the cocktails :)

Hi, yeah from videos I’ve seen it does look like it has receded a lot but they did say that in the last 2 years it has grown again due to some colder winters and snowfall so hopefully that continues.

Food is included in your price on the ship but there is specialist dinning options you can pay extra for. In my opinion the included food options are more than adequate

We're doing this itinerary in August so been following your vlogs. Look forward to seeing the other port vlogs! Do you have a photo of the daily planner you could share please to give us an idea of what's available on ship? Thanks.

Hi Glad you are enjoying them... Just finishing the final edit on our next port Flam which should be available very soon. Unfortunately the Daily planners didn't survive the trip home due to a spilage in one of the suitcases. if you have any specific questions I'll try and do my best to answer them. lots of different shows, quizzes, and Karaoke throughout the different days. Hope you enjoy the remaining days. :)

Hi are there multi storey car parks that will take your car for a week?
@mcmagicmoments10 ай бұрын
Hi, at the time we had done research and stayed at the multi storey car park at the shopping centre over the road from the port. It cost £5 per day and was a 10 min walk. We only did this because we left it late and the port parking was full but a good alternative.

Always nice to see visitors enjoy Edinburgh, though a word of warning: despite the tendency of visitors to do so, do not touch the nose of Greyfriars Bobby - that is a no-no. While the Old Town, which runs from the castle at the top of the Royal Mile down to the Palace of Holyrood House at the bottom, offers much to experience, unfortunately, too many focus on just that area. There is also the New Town (which includes St. Andrews Square, location of the bus station) though the gardens running the length of Queen St. (a one-minute walk beyond St. Andrews Square) create a border beyond which few visitors seem to venture, aside from those who find their way down to Dean Village, though the route they often take (Queensferry Street) bypasses the great streets, circuses and crescents lined with Georgian architecture that are must sees. Indeed, had you turned left out of your hotel you would have had a whole other experience with Calton Hill and the views from there as well as the regal architecture of the homes on Regents Terrace. Hopefully you will return for a more in-depth visit...and have some nice weather (though Edinburgh is fine under grey skies or sunshine).

Thank you for the feedback. So much we didn’t get to do due to time or the fact that some of the hikes would have been a bit to much for my parents. What a beautiful place with so much history and we can’t wait to go back and experience so much more.
