This is an amazing piece, and it's a shame that the recording equipment introduced so much noise. The intricacies of all the interlocking dynamics and staggered movement are almost lost. Even so, the voices are beautiful and it's clear that all the performers, both vocal and instrumental, respect this piece and are giving it their full focus.

Thanks for sharing some of the music of my country. This Mexican carol seems to be more performed in the USA than in Mexico. First time I heard it was in a recording by the Von Trapp Family Singers. Although not yet confirmed, the authorship is due to F. Jose Guadalupe Velazquez (1856-1920) who studied music in Regensburg, Germany. Food for thought!
