The very first anime i watch. 11 years ago, now i am 24 years. I'll come back here for the sake of flashback how good my life was at 12-13 years old. Comeback here making me more grateful how most of us survived COVID. Sending condolences to those who don't. Lost my Father, Grandpa, Grandma, 2 Uncles in 11 years of journey. Life moves on, hope y'all enjoying life

I also lost my close ones This anime changed the way of my life. I watched this during tough times, more tough times came and I lost my close ones, & now I am living comfortably in a good lifestyle. Words can't describe how much I like Clannad, Pet gal no SakuraSou, Evangelion, Genshiken, etc.

I saw this when I was 10-12 years old when it was newer, and at that time I still believed all cartoons and anime were meant for kids..... Clannad and Air absolutely destroyed me as a child, I still struggle finishing animes 💀😭🤣

Watched this when I was a young teenager. Now I'm 23 and rewatching it. I've been putting this off since I remembered that I was sad for a week when I first watched this. I've rewatched till episode 12 and tomoya graduating from school and finding work, doing something you don't particularly enjoy, slowly losing contact with your best friends, having less time to spend with your loved ones and slowly turning more stoic. All of it is just too relatable. His bond with Nagisa is getting stronger through their adversities. It's really depressing knowing what happens to them in the end.

Coming from someone who had completed the VN for Clannad, I must say Kyoto Animation did a fantastic job of bringing the novel to life. Not just in terms of the storyline, but also the art design, attention to details (like in the VN), and careful foreshadowing in the anime. While they maintained (a good thing) the original OP from the VN for their adaptations (Air, Clannad, Kanon), After Story's OP was special because it was a beautiful adaptation from a BGM track in the VN. Kamachi Sensei added a lot to the original BGM piece, increased the tempo, gave it much more soul and depth. All that was left was for Lia to give it her voice, and thus elevated a background music piece to one truly worthy to be an OP.

Over 3 and a half years now I believe.. Not a day has gone by without thinking of Clannad. Clannad was the best thing that happened to me in my life.. No joke. I wouldn't be here without it. I'd just be someone with no purpose in life and would not do anything useful with my life if it weren't for Clannad after story.. Just cried again to this Ost. Thank you God for this.

so basically the first half of the song is tomoya's pov when nagisa was still around the second half is still his pov but it's about how she's gone since the line says "it's only you who isn't by my side up until yesterday you were right by my side looking at me"
