Thanks, we put a lot of work into it. It was v. neglected when we bought it. which is common around here. We watch your videos because we keep thinking about moving to the Philippines. One thing that always made me wary was the heat. but guess what, during the summer here it is now standard to have 35 Celsius (about 95 F) with v. high humidity, and the weather is just disgusting. We have so many bugs you can't go outside without an astronaut suit (head net, double clothing, gloves etc. ). So in the end Filipino weather is better. So we watch those Filipino videos and dream.

100% agree and support this as God's instruction. At 4:50 in the video you say we bought the farm in 2019 and started gardening in 2020 and so you will take off the year 2027. Isn't that working 7 years and taking off the 8th? 1. 2020 2. 2021 3. 2022 4. 2023 5. 2024 6. 2025 7. 2026 Sabbatical (Not 2027) I'm not trying to be legalistic but if we are being exact in following God's way the count should be accurate. God bless you and thank you for your faithful approach to farming and life

The internet is your friend try doing some research if you are unsure on how something, anything is to operate or be set up. Even if you think you know double check it is "worth the trip" as they say. One can see that this is simply wrong as to set up on the plow. Not trying to be critical but c'mon man if you are going though the trouble of creating a video, make it informative in a correct way. But you did add nice music. Never to old to learn. Just saying.

NO. The command of the SHemitta was given to all Israel. It was given for them to observe in a set cycle that was already in motion, not whimsically however and whenever they individually see fit, like what you are doing. You can keep it when you like, but you are a Christian and are not observing it according to Torah protocol, seeing as how you already believe it is done away with anyhow.

Here is another thought about why you shouldn't cross pollinate on purpose, because some orchards have to use a second blooming type of apple because the whole orchard is actually grafted from the same tree... But, instead of having Golden Delicious apples planted beside Red Delicious apples so that the apples they produce would then contain seeds that are a mix of red delicious and golden delicious variety... they plant crab apple trees, so that the seeds that are produced inside the apple that is produced, if planted, will produce a cross between a delicious apple and a bitter apple. So the person who tried to plant the seeds from an orchard that crossed their apples with crab apples would only wind up with a tree that produces small bitter fruits. They can also do this with a pumpkin. Two types of pumpkins, one decorative and one edible. If you save the seeds of the edible one, there is a chance that the plant you produce may only produce a gourd that is not edible. I believe that God is not happy if a farmer or gardener does this kind of thing, on purpose. God made fruits and vegetables, so that when we eat the food, we can plant the seed and have more food. It's not right to control the food production by making the the next generation crop not edible. Hybridization can happen, and sometime produces a good food but if you purposefully plant so that the seed of the vegetable and fruits aren't able to be used to plant again, that is wrong.

@@christianhomesteadingbibli4537 Actually, the Shemita, the Sabbatical Year, is a specific set time and it is not directed by man. Much like the 7-day weekly cycle, which was blessed by God on the seventh day from Genesis2:1-3, now called Saturday, God put His blessing on the seventh year cycle also. The weekly cycle restores man and the yearly cycle restores the earth. It may be difficult for us to let the land rest simultaneously today as ancient Israel did but we can all do our part in some significant way. Thanks for the reply.

We started our garden in 2020 as well, although it was only a few plants, and I’m not sure if it counts.... but 2020 would be 1, 2021- 2, 2022-3, ‘23-4, ‘24-5, and 2025 would be the sixth, right? So, we’d be off in 2026, is that right?

yes! And I'm so glad you're asking because we were about to make a mistake. We also started in 2020 and somehow we calculated that the 7th year is 2027, but it's 2026, you're right. It must have been that "7" that threw my math off. And it's also refreshingly good to see people with common sense (resting in their 7th year) instead of legalists insisting on following the Jewish Sabbatical Calendar. which is probably incorrect anyways. Sorry for the late reply my the planting season is here and we're quite busy. All the best to you!
