Joaquín Phoenix debió haber ganado cómo actor secundario el Oscar y muchos piensan que su actuación fué magistral para haber ganado el Oscar a mejor actor por su actuación en Gladiador !

for music intellectuals who are still unaware of it Hans deliberately wrote a tune with Wagnerian sounds to draw a parallel between Commodus entering Rome and Hitler in Berlin and he never hid it so please...

The movies of 40 years ago where outstanding. I was in the Army in 77 and 78 it shows how basic. Was back then. I ended up in Germany in Babenhausen, they burned witches there 500 years ago at witches tower. They had an air calvary unit behind us a quarter Mile away. Once driving near Rampart Station in LA I heard a helicopter sounded awful taking off, it crashed a few days later. The cast in the movie were great, most xlnt stars and movies, much appreciated

As iconic a scene as it gets. Whoever concocted it deserves a place in history. This is cinematic gold plate.

This movie is why the Army refused to cooperate with Clint Eastwood for Heartbreak Ridge, so he had to make it with the Marines. Then after seeing the 1st cut, the Marine & the DOD cut all ties with the film. Proof that brass couldn't find their ass with both hands & someone holding a flashlight.

Went to Basic at Fort Knox KY, in 1991, Even got my initial haircut at the same barbershop as in the movie. They had autographed photos of Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and John Candy on the walls. I did whats called OSUT (One Station Unit Training) it was basic and AIT combined into 19 weeks of basic training. Later in my time in Army i got stationed at Friedberg Germany the same place Elvis was stationed, Ate Chow at the Elvis Presley Dinning hall almost every day. Had some Great times in the Army Made a lot of new friends. Served 18 months at Fort Stewart GA, 4 years in Germany, then 4 years at Fort Hood Texas.

Parts of this movie, mostly the part that they're in boot camp, were filmed at Ft. Knox. There is a scene that I recognized as the area that was known as the boot camp reception area. I went through boot camp there in 1982.

The Romans look like whasps from Boston lol Theses producers never saw the pictures of Pompeii? The Romans looked nothing like that. They were olive skinned people, in general. Like Andalusians or some Sicilians today

Are you really this ignorant or just trolling? Octavian was blond, Nero was redhead. They were white, caucasian and even Sicilians have fair skin. Don’t talk about Italy please.

During my US Army Basic Training at Fort Polk, January 1974, our Drill Sergeants occasionally allowed our formations to occasionally sing this cadence, but minus the bopping to the beat. We liked it a lot better than the yellow bird, or C-130 rolling down the strip.
